Has anyone got this train?

We are going at end of August, can someone tell me what the train is like? Does it look disney? Are there characters on it? Or is it just a big standard train that stops at Disneys gates. I think I read somewhere at time of booking that the magic starts on board. Can't find where I read that now. Just wanted to know what the magic starting on board involves?
Thanks so much

no big disney train im afraid, and ive only caught this train twice both out of peak season, and ive never seen any characters on it or at the station in ashford or the other end at disney.

the station at ashford does have a disney feel to it though. the lift is great! and theres disney posters and banners dotted about and hundreds of kids in disney mode! ive never seen characters there though. (maybe different for peak summer season though?)

at the french station ive seen a brass band playing tunes to welcome you there but thats about it from my two trips.

its still a great way to get to disney though. we would never go any other way.

The kids usually get a Disney activity pack which I think is classed as Disney magic!! Have a great trip xx

I'm pretty sure someone stated not too long ago that they stopped giving out the kid's packs - perhaps someone who has been on recently can confirm or deny?

We've used this route 12 times and never seen any characters, nor heard of any ever being on the train. It's only a 2 hour journey so the magic is very close anyway!

Yeah, they don't do Kid's packs anymore

There really isn't anything 'Disney' about the train itself - except for the fact that it's full of lots of excited Kids and Adults all talking about their trip! ::yes::

This is the one Lucas got last year:

That's a notebook at the top and a puzzle in the pack on the left.

Yes, it's just a regular Eurostar train. I found the direct train generally has a nice atmosphere though, at least compared to the trains to Paris which are more likely to be occupied by serious businessy types going by our trip last December!

As mentioned before Ashford station has lots of Disney decorations on it and when we went the first time Mickey or Donald announced the train's arrival. I don't know if they still do this though.

I'm not sure if they still do - but they did August 2011 :) The lift is a must though, I can't resist going in it sometimes just to show people haha! Lots of cardboard cutouts and decorations to hunt for which encourage you to find the hidden Mickey's ;)

When you arrive in the terminal, don't use the esculator, on the right is a lift......you MUST use it instead ;)
