Disney Dining time question

Hello Everyone,
I am hoping someone can help me to know what my options are. We have a DD reservation for Sci FI at 5:15pm. This is the only night that it will work for us to see the new Jingle Bell/Jingle BAM. It starts at 6:45pm. There are no reservations opened that we could take an earlier reservation even for lunch that day. Do you think it would be possible to walk in a little earlier to eat that we could then go and catch the new show? What other options do I have? Any ideas anyone could give me I would glady appreciate.
Thanks!!

I doubt you'll be able to get in earlier, since it's a very popular restaurant. However, an hour and a half should be plenty of time for you to eat, then see the show.

Every place I saw people try to check in earlier than about 5 minutes pre-ADR, they were being turned away until closer to their time.

If Sci-Fi is running late that night, you may have issues. I am assuming Jingle is a lot like SW where you will want a good position for the projections.

In other words: You may have to choose. Choose wisely.

what you can do is expedite your SciFi dining. Advise your server when you are seated you want to be out to be able to see Jingle Bell

Ask for your check when your meal is served. This way you can pay while you eat and then leave as soon as you are ready without waiting.

A little awkward to deal with paying while being served but it puts you in control of your exit without having to wait for your check

if you are shooting for multiple courses, this can delay your departure also. If it is meal and dessert, ask for your check with your dessert. SciFi isn't usually a long meal

good luck!

We have always got in early to Sci-fi, however we are a party of 2 so often the hitchhikers in the back of a car so this helps, if you have more than 2 in your party probably won't work to get in early. Our meals are always pretty quick here.

Agree with all this. Also, study the menu before going and know what you want to order beforehand...and order your meal at the same time your server gets your drink order.

It's very do-able...unless you just have to have prime position for the show.

I would check out the online menu, and have the whole party decide in advance then you can order straight away once seated. You could also do without dessert and get something from Sweet Spells and eat it while waiting for the show as you may need to arrive early to secure a spot to watch it. It seems a shame to rush through the sci fi experience, so i would stalk the website for s slightly earlier time. Bear in mind some people are delayed with getting seated or receiving food so that may delay you further.
