Disney Dining Plans. Worth While?

That would be an easy choice for us, we like to sit down for a proper meal every evening. Also main reason we choose OKW over a moderate, similar price but includes regular DDP.

I prefer not having it, we have done 3 trips 1st with DDP, 2nd just qs and 3rd trip a mostly qs with a couple of ts and I preferred the trips without DDP however if it is free I will work with it. I booked SSR as that is where my daughter wants to stay.

My daughter loves ddp because she can have an ice cream every day but doesn't like it when I say we can't go on test track because we have an ADR to go to.

I would not pay for it because I would feel like I would have to get good value out of it, if it is free I feel okay using an ADR at Plaza restaurant or 2 adrs for a signature.

Thanks for the advice. Think we are going to wing it so we still have the choice of where and when to eat.

We have booked a meal on 1/1/11 at the Castle for Mrs. F 40th birthday followed by a special surprise, which I can't disclose as she will be looking on here for Disney tips and my daughter will kill me if you finds out. We haven't told our son as he can't keep secrets as he, like all 8 year olds, forgets that its a secret and it just comes out.

Only down side for me is that Daytona is closed for re-surfacing as I was hoping for a chance to drive a NASCAR for my 40th :woohoo:

Thanks again for the advice will be sticking around for tips.

Great site and glad I found it.

Keep posting. Someone on here will be sure to have some alternative suggestions for something special for your birthday too!

Took your advice about booking early and gone reservation mad tonight.

Sorted Christmas Day (Nine Dragons (favourite from our last trip) New Years Eve (House of Blues) & just before we come home Le Cellier which I can't believe that it's nearly booked up solid for the 2 weeks while we are there hope it is good.

Brownie points for me (thanks to finding you helpful lot!!)

Extra Brownie POints to you! You got Le Cellier?! :thumbsup2 People have gone to war over the ressies for that as soon as the window opens!

We are also going to House of Blues. Have you seen the website Restaurant.com? They have special deals where you can buy House of Blues gift certificates for a discount. It only takes US addresses but you can use the company's address or your resort address in the US and you just print it off. Post on here before you buy though because there are often codes you enter at check out and you can pick up $25 certificates for $3!
