Disney Dining Plan

If you click on the dining above in the light blue section it will get you to the main dis dining page. Stroll down to Disney dining plan and click on either 2009 or 2010 dining plan restaurants, you will then have a list of the restaurants. I hope this helps and :welcome:

Wow, we are too!

We are going in March '10 and with three teens, I think it would be cheaper to do a meal plan lol

My question tho (as I found all the dining places, etc), but my question probalby is a silly one .. but are the meal plans daily for food? So you get two main meals, two snacks and two lunches .. if I read right, that's what I read ..

I am going through Costco and they provide 1 character meal, for the trip .. so I just wanted to make sure the meal plans are daily

Thanks for your help!

We have decided to do the Disney Dining plan. Does anyone have any tips? Are all of the restaraunts in the resort included? Anything else I should know about it? :confused3

I am going to move this to our Disney Dining Forum. They are experts on all aspects of the Dining plan!

Ok found the list and then went to Disney.com and looked at the menus! Thanks! Are all of the menu items included on the meal plan or is just select items?

For the regular DDP you get - 1 snack, 1 CS, and 1 TS per night

For the QSDP you get - 2 snacks and 2 CS meals per night and the refill mug one per person on the dining plan.

I usually pack some breakfast type items as I don't like using my snack credits for breakfast items. At the resort you can get oatmeal, cereal and milk, danish, muffin or crossants with a snack credit.

There are a lot of other yummy things to use your snack credits on.

For the normal menu items, most (if not all) of the normal menu items are included. They will typically point out any that aren't. (When we went in Sept, we didn't come across any that weren't, but we didn't eat at each and every restaurant either).

Just to expand on this a little. The credits are pooled and do not need to be used day to day.

So, if on the standard DDP and staying 7 nights, you will receive 7 CS (Counter Service) and 7 TS (Table Service) and 7 Snack credits for the entire stay (per person). How you use them is completely up to you (with some minor restrictions, such as only the people on the plans can use the credits, kids have to order from the kids menu, that type of stuff). If you wish to burn 3 TS in a single day, and then spread the other 4 out for the rest of the days, you are more than welcome to do that (or any combination you wish).

Don't know where you're reading that, but there's no plan that breaks down that way.

First, you do have to buy a Magic Your Way Disney package from Disney which includes an official Disneyworld Hotel room & park tickets to add a dining plan...don't know what Costco sells, but you cannot just add dining plan to any reservation so best check if you can get it through Costco. You have to be staying at an actual Disney hotel, not just in the area. Just an FYI, there are many versions of Disney vacation packages sold by outside vendors that do not qualify for adding the Disney dining plan -either because you're not staying at an actual Disney hotel, or because the vendor has purchased discounted Disney hotel rooms and is reselling them.

The "plus dining" plan is the most common one people add -- this gives you one counter/quick service meal, one table service meal and one snack per night. (All dining plans are tied to number of nights you're staying in a Disney hotel so if you're there 5 nights, you'll get 5 counter service, 5 table service and 5 snacks per person. Dining plan is not connected to how many days you have on your park tickets, either, just how many nights at your Disney hotel.)

The Quick Service Dining plan gives you 2 counter service meals and 2 snacks per night of your stay, plus a refillable mug (for use at your Disney hotel only - not in the parks.) This is the least expensive option.

The Deluxe Dining Plan gives 3 meal credits and 2 snack credits per night, plus the refillable mug (hotel use only.) The meal credits can be used at counter service or table service restaurants. By far the most expensive option but does give you the option of 3 meals paid for per day.

hope that explanation helps!:thumbsup2

Hi,
I think the meal plans are definitely worth it. We prefer the deluxe but we are adults and enjoy taking time at the signature restaurants.

The meal plans are per night....so you would get the alotted meals each night you stay....but they can be used until midnight the day of checkout.

The regular dining plan is 1 counter service, 1 table service ( not signature they take 2 table service credits )and 1 snack

The deluxe dining plan is 3 table service credits per night ...deluxe includes appetizer...regular does not and 2 snack credits and a refillable mug.

Hope that helps

Wow, thanks for the help!

The place I'm getting my info from is from Coscto.com planning a vacation and you can choose what meal plan (Donald, Goofy, Mickey, etc) meal plans ..

Where else do you all buy your meal plans? Now if I had small kids I don't think the meal plans would help .. but my son alone it would be cost efficient lol .. he's avg. size and you sure couldn't tell it by looking .. I have 2 18 yr olds and a 16 yr old .. so I think the meal plans there would be a good deal.

thanks again for your help .. I will read over, research and read the boards more ..glad I found this!

I would try and help but I can't find what you're seeing on the Costco website. I'm looking there right now, and it looks like the Costco WDW Orlando trips all show them using the Sheraton Vistana Villages. You can't add a Disney Dining Plan to an offsite hotel, you must be staying at a WDW Resort.

I am going through Costco and they provide 1 character meal, for the trip ..

OK I DO see this, but it's for their DisneyLAND trips. Are you going to Disneyland instead of WDW?

Sorry if I'm not in the right place on their website, I'm a Sam's Club member

Also if you haven't seen it yet, there is a "sticky" here at the top of the board to a thread about the DDP (Everything You Need to Know) that has lots of info about all the DDP plans:

Yep in DisneyLAND! And yep you can get meal plans with surrounding motels on Costco as it's a perk of Costco ..

Sorry I didn't clarify which "land" or "world" I was going to lol ...

I sure will read all I can .. I have had this board bookmarked for a long time .. am really excited to glean from it!

If you are wanting information on DisneyLAND, then you should probably go under the Disneyland Planning Forum here on the Disboards. Disney World and Disneyland hotels and resorts and dining have no correlation at all.

Thanks for the help ... as I've made 8 posts .. I don't know my way around yet ...

When I go to the boards I don't see a specific DisneyLAND place .. so if you know of a place ... can you post a link please ...

I choose Disneyland at the top, but that's info, not the boards .. if that's the place you meant, it doesn't say that the food was daily, or specifics, that's why I went to the boards to ask 'real' people ..

I apologize if I posted in the wrong place ...

The Disneyland Forum section of the Disboards is on the mainpage. Here's a link:

Moving this to the Disneyland forum, as it appears the OP is taking a trip to Disneyland and not Walt Disney World.

No, I believe Photocheck, the original poster is going to DisneyWorld. The other poster mbfqueen is going to Disneyland, that's why I gave her the link to the Disneyland section of the board.

mbfqueen,

The consensus on the DL boards is that the DL dining plan is not nearly the bargain that the WDW plan can be. My understanding is that it is mainly a voucher system. If you have a $5 voucher and use it for a $4.50 purchase you do not get the change back. So there is the possibility to lose money. Do a search on the boards and you will find a lot of opinions.

Also,

:welcome:
