Disney Dining Plan Question

Can I pay for 4 dining plans and use the credits for 3 people ...so as to use 2 credits for signature dining.
My Uncle is visiting us for a day and I thought I would buy the plan for him and use the other credits for the 3 of us.
Is this do-able...We could do three or four signature meals this way.
Has anyone tried this.

Yes, simply add your uncle to your room reservation. All the rooms keys have access to all the dining credits, so use them as you wish. But, is it really cheaper than paying out of pocket for the signature meals? Or one person using 2 credits and another paying cash?
