We have DDP next year and have never used it before.

Is there a set menu of things you are only allowed to choose from from the relevant menus?

If so, if you wanted something not included, are you allowed to pay the difference?

Thanks - DIS rocks!!!

Hiya!

No, no set menus, you can order anything! At least, I didn't come across anything you couldn't order last year, apart from "supersize" things like desserts meant for two. Anything for one person you can go for! Appetizers are not included, but if you want one you can pay extra!

In 16 nights all we bought was a drink at Cali Grill while we waited for the table to be ready. We had more than enough food without starters.
Even the larger desserts can be ordered if 2 share.
We got this one at Grand Floridian Cafe

There has been a few things on menus that have not been included on the menus but usually most things are available. They usually go through the menu with you if you ask and also tell them that you are on the dining plan.

Have fun choosing, we find that an exciting part of our holiday is trying to work out where to eat.

We find that it is enough food and in fact we didnt use all our counter service meals last year because it was too much food. Key is planning.

Have fun

Have always been able to order everything we wanted off the menus no problem. As another poster said, the server will let you know before hand if anything is excluded. The only advice i would give you is do your homework on counter service food and snack options, because we found it a little confusing at first. But all the stuff has the DP sign next to it. Iknow theres a website somewhere with everthing listed but i just cant think of it at the moment.
oh, and the best thing about DDP is, not having to look at the prices, if you want lobster or fillet HAVE IT!

Thanks everyone!!

Wayne
That dessert looked wonderful - where was it from?

Also, the snack part of DDP - isn't it just popcorn, or ice cream or a piece of fruit?

I'm confused about the Counter Service thing a little too!!1 Sorry!!

The dessert was here http://allears.net/menu/men_gfcd.htm
$9.99 to pay for or 2 can share on DDP.

DDP snack, loads of stuff you can have have a look at Leannes list here from last years options. http://www.thedibb.com/forums/showthread.php?t=285697 we possibly have something similar on DIS but no time o look just now.

CS is easy, any entree, any dessert and any drink (non alcoholic) can't think we came across anything that was excluded but you can ask for advise anywhere.

Wayne just wondering what was your strategy with drinks druing the day, did you take your own to the parks, use water fountains, snack credits, or the free water that parks have to provide if you ask ?

We usually buy a large (5L?) bottle of water from Publix, costs about $1 and buy a couple of smaller bottles that we re-fill. Every evening put them in fridge or freezer for next day. In August we had lots of drinks on DDP, with CS got 1 large fountain drink to share(I think you are only supposed to get medium but everywhere gave larege if I asked) then got 2 bottled drinks to save for later. End of the 16 nights DDP we had about 8 bottles of drink left in the fridge.
