Hi

I have just booked for October 2006, first time for our family!

I wanted to book the disney dining plan, but was advised by Virgin that this had been withdrawn for 'contractual' reasons. It has also been withdrawn by thomson.

Beacuase we are doing a 2nd week in naples and flying back from miami virgin were the only ones we could book with.

I was wondering if anyone out there knew anything about this. I have e-mailed disney to ask them too.

Thanks for your help - you all seem such experts and I'm just wading through a minefield!!

I would book direct.. dont go through the travel agent.. it will probably work out cheaper for you..

I agree, we booked with Virgin, then changed it and booked direct with Disney, it saved us money as well.

We did this due to the fact that Virgin told us that we could not book this option as it was not value for money, that was in Feb. Since coming back from our hols, they added it to the brochure.

We also gained booking with Disney, we received a free gift, which was a timepiece clock. It has various versions of Mickey next to walt's desk and a small clock. It is very nice.

For what I've read & how I understand it:The dining plan is part of a package which includes your WDW hotel, pass & dining. All of which must be booked at the same time-someone on another thread mentioned that they had to canx their original booking & start afresh (?).The dining plan must be for the duration of your stay & include everyone in your party. There is a link on www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com which details all the restaurants & how to swap things for better restaurants

thanks for your replys.

Yep we booked hotel and passes etc all together, it just seems to be a blanket withdrawl from all uk tour operators.

I even phoned virgin twice to get a different operator to check.

The dining plan seems really good value, I will hate having to pay for my meals if I can't sort it out!

I have looked at booking direct but our agent gave us a 10% discount and spent so much time with us I would feel really guilty cancelling. Will keep it as an option though.

Waiting for disney to get back to me!

you can book this at frount desk when you check in at disney

Hi Paul

Thanks for this info.

Is that what you did on your trip, or was it advertised somewhere?

That's great news!

Gulp! I hope not. I've booked mine through BA Holidays and everything seems fine.
