Disney dining plan menu restrictions

Say I go to Chefs De France can I order the 3 coarse meal on the dining plan? I have been looking at menus and some plates can go to 40.00 is there a restriction at some restaurants?

We've had the three course prix fixe meal on the DDP at Les Chefs and Le Cellier, but you cannot make any substitutions at all.

In general, you can order any entree and dessert on the menu, except for items listed as for more than one diner. On basic DDP, you can do the fixed-price three course meals, but with absolutely no substitutions.

It may depend on the restaurant...

When we were at San Angel Inn last month, the server told us that we could NOT have the 3 course meal since we were not on the deluxe plan. The 3 course included an appetizer and we were not entitled to that on the DDP.
