I have a very specific perhaps odd question re: the dining plan. If we're going as a group of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) for the standard plan for 7 nights we'd get 35 snacks, 35 quicks and 35 tables services total. Does it have to be used as 7/7/7 per person? IN other words, if for some reason one or two of us ran out of credits and someone had extras....could we use the extras for another person since they're in the same party/room???

I'm not an expert but in a word "yes". All your credits are on everyone's card...if that makes sense..i.e if my 17 year old ran off with her "key to the world card" she could purchase 35 dole whips ! :rotfl2: you may use your credits in any combination on any day...so 3 TS one day ...whatever you wish:goodvibes

You can use them anyway you wish they will all be on your room key to the world. you can eat all TS one day if you want or get all snacks at once or CS same way. It is up to you. signature dining takes 2 TS. If one in the party say eats two snacks in one day and rest do not then they would have 34 left and the rest of party 35. OR one person could eat them all. Is up to us to keep track and each meal will get a receipt with remaining balance of credits or you can call guest relations and they will tell you. We like to keep receipts and see how much we saved on food per using a discount on rooms. so far free dining has won:banana: the important thing is to get all TS booked soon as you can (180 days out) :worship:

You will frequently see posts here about families having 30 or 40 snack credits left over at the end of their trip, and clearing out the gift shop's supply of Mickey rice-krispy treats to bring home with them.

It's one big pool for everyone to draw from. You could use 10 TS credits one day and none the next. It doesn't matter how you use them.

the important thing to note is what pp2 mentioned - that they track adult credits and child credits separately.

so you don't really have 35qs and 35cs credits in your example - you actually have 14 adult cs and 21 child cs and 14 adult ts and 21 child ts.

you'll see this tracked at the bottom of your receipt as you use them.

Just to clarify, the receipt will keep track of adult and child TS only. CS credits are pooled because there are a few CS locations that don't have kids meals.

Please do not post regarding using child CS to purchase adult meals. Per Disney's written requirement that child CS be used for child meals at restaurants that have a children's menu, the DIS Restaurant Board deletes discussion in this area.

I don't think anyone did this. I think what someone said was that some places simply don't have childs meals.....that's how I read it...sorry if I got someone into trouble,

A few posts have been deleted from the thread for doing it, since that wasn't the question, the thread is still open.

You can use your credits as you wish for who you want but keep in mind that you only have 14 credits for TS adults meals therefor if you use all the adult credits, you are out of luck for later in the trip and can't use the kids credit. However with the snacks, it's a free for all and everyone can use them. that being said, it doesn't stop you from using all the adults credit for yourself and get the other to pay out of pocket KWIM. Also you can use all the credits the same day and won't care although good luck doing it as you might have to roll out of the restaurants LOL This past trip, I used 40 credits on the same day for take home snacks and had no problems.

Stupid Question but I take it there is no "kids snack" so those can be interchanged and used for whoever?

A snack credit is a snack credit. The age of the person it was allotted to doesn't matter. Pretty much the only restriction is that it has to be under $5 or so (this doesn't apply to every item you might be able to get, but to most) and that it must be a single serving.
