Disney Dining Plan? Can we get it while staying at the Fort?

I am very confused on the DDP. I am doing all of the planning for my family and I have heard of this so called plan but can someone put it in simple terms for me? Are we even eligible for it while staying at the fort?

I don't know if this helps, but we are staying for 7 days and are FL residents who might be purchasing annual passes.

Yes, if you are an AP holder, you can add the Dining Plan to your reservation. The cost is $37.99 per adult ($11 for kids ages 3-9). You will each get: 1 Table Service meal, 1 Counter Service meal, and 1 Snack, per day. Here is a list of all the participating restaurants: Disney Dining Plan Restaurants

It's a great deal! Unless you are planning on cooking a lot of your own meals, it is hard to eat at Disney for under $38 per day!
