Disney Dining Plan ---- Can it be shared/split??

One problem with that, digskat, is that while your daughter may not eat enough to make the Dining Plan worthwhile, somebody else's twelve-year-old son might eat as much at one meal as another person does all day!

I agree I just wish there was a price that was fair for both Disney and the customer, somewhere inbetween $37.99 and $10.99 for those tweeners.
But we'll see how much we save this time and then decide for next year! The way everyone raves about it, it seems it is the best way to go, even for the character meals....that in itself may be worth the extra $$. Take care everyone Kat

The easiest way to solve this problem is to be able to buy adult meal credits or children's meal credits regardless of your age. This way, picky 12 year olds that only ever order off the children's menu can pay a reduced price and still have the advantage of eating on a reduced price plan. You must buy either adult OR children's menu meal credits for each individual in your room. If you choose to swap them amongst yourselves, fine. But children's menu credits are only good for children's meals and adult menu credits are only good for adult menu meals.

I have no solution for young children that eat like birds and wouldn't even finish a children's meal. In that case, the meal plan doesn't work for your family.

That is a great idea. Of course it would mean separating the child and adult credits so they can not be abused but then a family and their kids can decided if they want to pay adult price for the 11 year old if they like and want to eat an adult appy, entree and dessert. Or they can decide to pay the kid price if they will be content with the kids menu. Doesn't sound very complicated to me and it would certainly make going with those inbetween 10-14 year old easier.
