Disney Dining Plan: Bring a guest?

If I have the Disney Dining Plan, and sufficient credits, can I treat a friend who does not have a dining plan to dinner with me?

For example we both have dinner at "Be Our Guest" and I pay for both of us using two table meal credits?

Yep just say you will be redeeming 2 credits and they won't bat an eye.
