Please don't shoot me . . .

Can someone else in the family use your Disney Dining Experience card if their name isn't on it (and you're not with them)? I read somewhere that you get two cards. Is your name on the cards and, if so, has it been your experience that they check name on card against name on credit card? What if you charge meal to your room?:flower1:

1. Your name is on the card.

2. They ask for ID (used to be FL DL)

3. Now everyone's name is printed individually on your room key rather than just the name of the person who made the reservation.

4. The only people who can share an account (getting two cards) are spouses or domestic partners residing at the same address.

5. The cards are not transferable to your great aunt Bess or Grampa Max.

You will receive 2 DDE cards with your membership, one for yourself, and one for another adult in your household. They may or may not ask for ID to be sure that the name on the card matches the name of the user, it is a toss-up as to whether they will ask, but I would assume with the sheer number of cards being issued that ID checks will become standard procedure.

We were never asked for ID (we are FL residents) but then again, we always paid with a credit card that had our name on it.

Usually I am not asked for ID. Like the previous post-er, I pay with a (debit) card. And of course the names match between the two cards. The CMs do always call me by name, so they obviously look at both. Sometimes they compare the names in front of me.

So if my sister will be going to WDW for her college spring break in 06 with a buddy, I should get the second card issued in her name rather than our mom's like I would otherwise have done?(It's a given that one will be in my name because I do all the planning and most of the paying) We all hav ethe same permanent address. She'll be doing that trip without me likely because even though she's looking at transferring to where I go to school next year, the medical school has a different spring break than all the other colleges at the university. I hoping someone in Admin will see that and say "What were we thinking?" On the other hand, I'll need to study for boards especially if I want to do the 1/2 Ironman in May so maybe it's good that I can't go to the World with her.

I would just look to something official to see what the criteria is. I don't know if the DDE info is on the Disney web site or not.
Most are getting a second card for a spouse or SO. But since you are single and your sister is at the same residence as you, I don't see why it would make a difference.
Keep in mind the card will be good 12 - 13 months after you pay for it. So consider the timing for 2006 WDW trips using the DDE card holder.
Good luck on the 1/2 Ironman in May! Keep us posted hoe that goes! :wave2:

When I ordered mine, Amy just asked me the name for the other card. We have 5 adult APs holders in our family but I chose my DH...LOL.
