We got it for our wedding trip. We saved 20% on all but one of our table service meals. The only one that didn't take it was japan. We even saved 20% on our wedding dinner at Yachtsman on all but 2 people's meals (there's a 10 person limit). We also got 50% off at Pleasure Island on a multi-ticket. It also saved us on counter service at Pop Century and Animal Kingdom where they don't have sit down service. If you eat mostly table service it's very worth it, if you do mostly counter it wont help you.
DH got the card specifically for the wedding and it more than paid for itself after the rehearsal dinner, brunch the next day, and our own personal lunches and dinners. We prefer TS restaurants so it's been very worth it for us. I didn't know you could use it at AK though, good to know as we're going there Saturday
we bought the dde card ($50) for our planning trip & the wedding, it more than paid for itself in november alone ntm our future wedding activities. it gives you 20% off most restaurants. i would defintely get it!
also the annual pass by itself gives some discounts 15% on most recreation ie behind the scene tours & gf spa treatments for the card holders.
Hey there.
We bought the card especially for our dinner after our Intimate Wedding.
We had a table for 15 and Ohanas took the 20% off our ENTIRE PARTY.
I don't know if it was a mistake or maybe they just wanted to be nice.
Saved over $150 on that one meal.
Definitely worth it.
We live in Orlando so definitely worth it for us.
Hope that helps.
Gabrielle
We love, love, love the dining plan. We went ahead and booked our honeymoon for Jan next year but we couldn't get the dining b/c they haven't determined the prices for 2007 but as soon as april rolls around we are definitely adding the dining plan!
We purchased the Disney Dining Experience card at the reduced rate for annual passholders ($50 last year, increased to $60 this year). It paid for itself so quickly! If you plan to eat at a lot of table service restaurants, you can easily make you money back plus save a bunch. I would estimate that we probably saved a total of $150+ dollars on two weeks at WDW.
sajetto, the Disney Dining Experience is a card that you pay for that gets you discounts on Disney restaurants. Its different than their Dining Plan, which can also save money.
Whoops should have read that post more closely. I've heard of that card before but I never bothered to buy it. After reading the whole thread now it looks like it would be worth getting one for my sis and parents.
having the DDE is a great investment. you save 20% off your meals, including alcohol. we used it for our last trip and it saved us quite a bit. get it, i highly recommend it.
