Disney Dining Experience question

I was thnking about getting the DDE with my AP. I was looking at the list of participating restaurants on mousesavers and I was wondering the restaurants..do they include the character meals at that restaurant? Also do I purchase the DDE separately from my AP?

If the restaurant is listed all meals at that restaurant should be covered. You have to call DDE office at 1-407-566-5858. This office is only open Mon thru Fri 9AM till 6PM.

I just looked at my participating restaurant list and see only a few exceptions

DDE can be used at Beaches & Cream [excludes take out shop]
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue [late show only]
Victoria & Alberts [excludes Chef's Table]
Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show [late show only]

All other participants show no exceptions and it looks like all the restaurants that have character meals are listed.
