Disney Dining Experience discount on Fantasmic Dining package?

Has anyone ever used their DDE card on the Fantasmic Dining package? We tried to tonight and they denied us. I'm really surprised as I thought I read somewhere that they would take it. Our bill was rather pricey!!!

Unfortunately, fine print says "The Disney Dining Experience discount cannot be combined with any other discount or package. This includes events such as Fantasmic Dinner Package, Epcot Food and Wine Festival Events, and Candlelight Dinner Packages."

You cannot get DDE discount with the Fantasmic Package. I asked when I made the reservation and asked again when we paid the bill, both times the answer was no. You can dine at any of the restaurants which do the Fantasmic Package and get the DDE discount, but you won't get the tickets for the Fantasmic reserved seating.

we gave our server our DDE card not realising it wasn't included in the scheme, he came back and said he couldn't give us the discount but he didn't charge us for our 3 year old as he hardly ate a thing so we ended up saving about 20% anyway.
