I thought I could buy this when I got my AP at the airport...which by the way is next week. I just read some info that says I need to call ahead and then can get one emailed to me. Is this correct??

What if I do not have my AP yet??

that might be a problem getting one beforehand w/out an AP. they asked for my pass number. good luck! :earboy2:

This is what I get for waiting until the last minute...but I had read not to get the AP until you get to Disney, so I figured I would just wait. Now I wish I had just ordered it.

Anyway- any ideas on how to get the AP by next Friday and then get the DDE email.

Order the AP on the phone with Disney, then call the DDE office and ask if the confirmation number for your AP will be enough to get the DDE

If I order the AP by phone today with Diney, will I get it by next Thursday/Friday??

You won't get it in the mail by then unless you have them over night it (you pay for it) but you can order it as a will call to pick up at the guest service window of any theme parks but you will have a confirmation number and since they are non refundable it may be enough for to get the DDE card

The Will Call number is not enough to get DDE, you need the actual code from the back of the voucher of activated AP. You're best bet is to either order the AP voucher from Disney and pay for it to be overnighted, or buy it in Orlando. You can then call DDE during their regular business hours (9 - 6 M-F) and they will fax a copy of the letter to your resort.

Here is what happened to me: Ordered my AP voucher last Wed. (Feb. 9), processed & sent out for delivery, Thurs. (Feb. 10), and I received it to my house in Canada by DHL courier on Tuesday, (Feb. 15)! I only paid for the regular shipping of $3.00 which Disney said would be to my house in Canada in 7-10 days. I posted a few days ago asking about your US postal service delivery - specifically what are the differences between Disney's shipping $3.00 & $10.00 (express or international), but no one answered my post except one other Canadian who also received her tickets within 3 days to Vancouver - so I guess it wasn't a a fluke that I received mine so quickly - I thought maybe they sent me express post even though I only paid $3.00.

You could give Disney a call and ask them the differences in delivery and you find out, would you mind posting, as I'm still wondering about this as I have someone else who wants to order tickets too, but I don't want her to expect the same quick delivery that I got with the $3.00 delivery if I was sent a quicker delivery (I had problems with DDE office and so DVC processed my tix right away).

Sorry if I wasn't much help, but I just wanted you to know that you might not necessarily have to pay for overnight express - but as the other poster said, you definitely have to have your AP numbers in hand to order your DDE card. DDE will NOT accept Will Call numbers for card, so you could still get your DDE card while on property as long as you arrive M-F before 5:00 (DDE hours) as they will fax to your resort a temporary letter for you to use while there.

Good luck, Tiger :earsgirl:

Here is what I did. I called Disney and ordered the AP. The cost was $10.00 for priority mail in 3-5 days and then I can get the DDE. At first I thought I could just use the ticket confirmation number. But you cannot!!!! You have to have the number off the voucher or they will not sell you the DDE.

Lessons learned for my next trip!!!

Thanks to all for your help!!!

What time of day Friday are you arriving at WDW? You can buy your AP, then call DDE and order the card, they will send a fax or email to your resort that you can use. But you must be arriving and call during DDE business hours...and I would definately try to call before 4pm to give them time to answer the phone (they are pretty swamped).

If you are arriving at Disney on a weekend, no, you will need to order your AP and have it sent quickly, then call DDE before you leave so you can get the email. AS others have said, you can pay additional shipping for rapid delivery.

What number do I call to order the DDE?

I just ordered our AP's online...I have to wait to get the vouchers, then I can call and order DDE, right? Then they'll email something that I can use until my card arrives? We leave March 18th and I just realized what a good deal the DDE plan is, considering we eat all of our meals on property!

Call 407-566-5858 and hit option 3 after you get your voucher with the number. They can then email the paper to use for the DDE discounts. They said that would only take a few minutes.
