Disney Dining Experience card ?

I am getting an annual pass, if I purchase the DDE card (for an extra $60) is it valid for all my visits during the year?

No...it is not valid for all dates during the year. Some holidays/dates around the holidays are excluded as well as other things. Ask the castmember before you purchase to make sure you are getting what you want.

WHAT!? That is totally different than what the CM told me. She said that since I was purchasing the AP's I can use the card on all my trips.....should have known better and asked here on the DIS first.

go to the DDE site and you will see when the card is not used...

you can use your card on all of your trips......just a small amount of days during the whole year.....it is worth the money......honest......go and look at the black out days

It is SOOOOO worth the 60 bucks.

While I know it is not valid on certain days of the year, there were some restaurants that last week, we saved almost the entire cost of membership in one fell swoop, and that was just with 2 of us on the plan.

Even when you average it out.....it is a GREAT deal, most people within 1 week of dining would say twice as much using the card...as the cost of membership

So, do I need one card for the whole family? (I know it sounds silly, but with Disney, you need to ask these questions.) I present the card and the discount is off the entire bill, not just MY portion?

Julie it is also good at some of the resorts.....Like Port Orleans French QUarter, ALL Star resorts and pop century.......well worth it and then the sit down restaurants .......we save a bundle

You can get one card but you would have to be present to receive the discount......or you can pay another 25 dollars and get one for your spouse or SO.....we went last April and we brought husbands brother and his wife...so when they went up to the food court I just went with them and they paid for their food and I presented my card....it works great.....

the DDE has eight blackout days per year, in chronological order: New Years Day, Easter Sunday, Mother's Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve. It's good every other day of the year.

One card can be used for up to 10 people, but they can't split the bill.

It also takes 20% off alcoholic beverages, but using the card adds an automatic 18% tip. I usually tip 20% - 25% so I add a few extra $'s for the tip. We just used it for 10 days and saved about $250 for the 2 of us.
