Disney Dining Experience Card now available for AP Passholders

I think I read somewhere that the free parking is only good for the evening - after 4 or 5 pm (I can't remember the exact time). So you couldn't park for free all day, but you could if you just go to the park in the evening.

Another parking perk with DDE - if you are dining at a resort with valet parking, you get complimentary valet parking provided you bring a receipt from your meal when retrieving your car. :cool1:

I left a vm for them on Sunday and they called me pretty early this morning, she asked if I was an AP holder and said if we needed it before 6 weeks they would e-mail or fax a confirmation. I left work at 4:00 and it wasn't there yet, but I'm sure it will be there when I get in in the morning.

Between the AP discount and DDE I am very, very pleased with Disney right now. We weren't even seriously considering a trip down this year and now we have 3 planned.

Wow, been away for a while and this is a great piece of news to come back to! (Sorry, I know this is old news by now, and everyone's probably already over it... :p )

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else has seen Allearsnet's page on the DDE?
The wording's a bit confusing, and it almost sounds like ANYONE can buy a DDE card, regardless of state residency or AP-holder status.

Does anyone know if the info is just worded unclearly, or is this truly another new development that non-AP-holders who aren't FL residents can also buy it for the regular-priced $75?

Yes, we are all aware of it (and I can't wait to get mine!) If you are an AP holder, then you will be able to purchase the DDE card for $50 and will be entitled to the discounts mentioned regardless of where you reside. If you are not an AP holder, then it will be $75 for the card. But the only way to get the card is to call that 800 #. It has been high in demand so if you have a trip planned, I have heard it takes 4-6 weeks and I've heard 6-8 weeks, however, if you are going on a trip before then, you will be able to use the e-mail confirmation that they send you.
Hope this helps!
Good luck!

I received my e-mail confirmation letter. It said I was a member until 1/31/06 but the letter was only valid until 2/28/05. We are staying until 3/06/05. I called the number in the e-mail and explain my situation and I quickly received another e-mail extending the valid period of the letter to 3/15/05.
Good service!

This is a great card. We have the letter and have not been turned away at all. The CMs take it to the manager for verification. So far we have saved around $140 in 7days, and that doesnt include some other DISers that have dined with us that also saved the 20% as well from our card.

And for those in question, we didnt have the APs in hand. We explained that we were purchasing them the next day when we arrived. DDE said no problem, they sold it too us at the reduced price, faxed the letter within a couple of hours, and we were set.

It is well worth it IMO.

I ditto everything Tammy said! We just returned from Orlando & had no problem using the memo sent to us in an email.

I am not an AP holder, going down in April. Can I purchase this card? Is there a DVC discount as well?

It is only for FL residents and non-resident AP holders. There is no DVC Discount, and it is not currently tied or associated with DVC membership in any way.

FYI - The Disney Dining Experience card I purchased several days ago is now available for any AP holder regardless of state of residency. Being a FL resident is not a criteria any more.

For those who are going to WDW before they recieve card
How is the faxed voucher for AP holders who purchase DDE being received?

:jumping4: 11 more sleeps to go

DVC Members get $100 the price of an AP, $125 off of a PAP. But this thread is about the DDE, and there is not a specific DVC discount for the DDE Card, the $50 price is available to all AP and PAP holders, no matter if they are DVC members or not.

:guilty:
I bow to the "veteran"....you are certainly correct....I knew I goofed as soon as I sent first reply!

I have my e-mail and I'm excited that all the restaurants we have PSs at are on the DDE list :Pinkbounc

Hi!
I purchased my Dining Card early last week over the phone. Rosa said that it would take a few days for the email to be sent. I haven't received it yet, but hopefully will next week. I'll be in WDW by next Thursday!

Let me get this thru my thick skull.
I am arriving March 2 for an 8 day stay. I will buy an AP at that time. I do not have one now. Can I buy the DDE for $50 now and get the email so that I will be sure to use it when I arrive and buy the AP.

I would call back....1 407 566 5858
emails get lost or not sent for various "techie" reasons.

I called DDE on Thursday, January 6 & bought the DDE over the phone. The CM said I could have the confirmation faxed or emailed to me. I chose email. The email arrived the next day. In the attachment was a memo on Disney letter head that said I have a DDE card. I had no problems using it last week at a few restaurants.

Just curious.... for those who have used the card. Were you asked to show your AP? I am wondering about those that have APs that will expire before the DDE.

Also, does your DDE card say anything about having an AP?

Edited to add: I hadn't realized that the DDE card is available to anyone now, not just AP and FL residents. Non-Florida residents and non-AP holders just have to pay $75. But, if they are giving it to people for $50 if they are just saying the are going to get an AP, what is stopping everyone from saying this.
