It the Disney Dining Exp. Card worth the added expence for Annual Passholders?

we just returned last night and we definitely think it is worth the expense......we stayed at French Quarter Port Orleans and used it for breakfast every morning and then any snacks we had or ice cream at that resort.......we used it at Biergarten, Crystal Palace, and Hollywood and vine......Also at AK most of the places accept the card too....The card payed for itself the first visit on this annual pass and also for the rest of our visits too........

If you like to dine at nice TS restaurants, yes. If you have an AP, you already go multiple times per year (at least twice a year).

We are from California and will be purchasing the Annual Pass in August when we will be there for 13 days. We will also be there next Mid July to early August for about the same time, I know the Annual passes will still be valid, but will the Dining cards still be valid?

I think the DDE card is like any other WDW discount. If it fits your needs, it's great!

We used the DDE prior to DVC getting the DDP, and we loved it. We saved the cost of the card the first day, and used the card for 3 trips in 11 months.

The DDE is probably a better choice for families the DDP doesn't really fit well. You get 20% off (including alcohol, which no other plan discounts), for up to 10 people at a meal, for 13 months. If you are making multiple trips in one year, you'll save bigtime. If you are making one trip longer than 7 days and plan on eating several meals onsite, you'll save.

We prefer the DDP for our family's needs, but DDE is a great discount program for many people.

We love the DDE card!! Used it for 10 people, over 5 nights last December (Raglan Road, Olivia's, Yachtsman Steakhouse, 50's Primetime, others and save a BUNCH!! Oh yes, our group enjoy cocktails, beer etc, so this was the way to go. We also just got back (2 people) and used it again!

We love having the DDE card. It will save us lots of money over the year when dining at Disney.

Ours paid for itself with one (week long) trip to WDW! It made it easier for us to be willing to go to more expensive TS restaurants than we normally would too!

We have had it for several years now. We get one with my name and DHs name... and DS has the same name as DH ;) ...so he has used it also. I did ask if that was "legal" and a CM said as long as the name on the card matched they didn't care.
Anyway, we go down at least once a year with a large group of people and eat about 1 meal a day at sit down places, Crystal Palace, Whispering Canyon, Trails End, and such. It saves us many times what we pay for the cards! I wasn't sure it would, but it has been great. It ends that the amount saved is around the same we end up tipping. So that works very well for us!
And when we have had more then the 10 people in a group we have been able to split the bill and both my DH and I use the card so that everyone gets the discount! Not sure that is legal.. but it is within the guidelines that we got when we got the card, and we would have never thought of it if a CM had not asked if we both had a DDE card and said they could split it up! So it wasn't our idea!
