I kind of agree with you about "the boat ride in Mexico" I really think they could come up with something better to showcase the Mexican culture! My kiddos love it though! I just love the Mexico Pavilion! It's so beautiful!

Hi! I am climbing aboard late but apparently just in time for a much needed virtual visit to my beloved Beach Club and World Showcase!

I agree with you, those hallways at BC can be LONG but it is so worth it! Walking "home" after Illuminations is truly priceless!

And lastly, I have to agree with you that DISers are just the nicest people ever. I've been lucky enough to meet quite a few and you're right - somehow we just seem to "know" eachother and always have a great time.

By the time I think we figured out BC, it was almost time to go home!

Michelle, what a great update. First, I agree with you -- they ought to do something with Mexico. It was awful originally and no better since the redo (we ride it only to cool off). We've never dined in Tokyo either, but I think we may have to try this on a next visit. Love the pictures of the Beach Club and your girls and son are adorable. Don't you just LOVE Dis meets? I can't wait until the one I'm trying to put together in September.

What a small world! That is soo cool about who ya'll were seated with! When we ate at Teppan Edo we were seated with a couple and their son... and they ignored us the whole time!

Double post...the DIS is acting kooky for me today!

I will add that we are not huge fans of Illuminations either. Last time we saw it the wind was blowing and all we saw was smoke really. That's what's great about Disney-there's something for everyone!!

It's not that we don't like it---It's just that one that we don't really care if we see or miss.

I LOVE the nighttime photo of the Boardwalk! Really makes me want to stay in that area - even more so than having such close access to Epcot. I just love the ambience.

Sounds like a fun Dismeet. And how cool that you ended up seated with ... well how would you describe it? Friends of friends, I guess, at Teppan Edo!

I'm glad you had a good time at the meet in France. I had a good intentions of being there. It just was not in the cards for us that day.

I thought it was pretty funny that we wound up eating with Leanne's friends. I didn't realize how huge Teppan Edo is, so it really was luck that we wound up sitting with them. They seem like a really nice family.

I would have liked to met you in person, but I completely understand about it not working out that night. We weren't able to make the one on the 28th, and I hated that.

Thanks! We had a great first day/evening at Disney! The DIS meet was my first, and I enjoyed meeting everyone so much. Dinner was great---I have fairly picky eaters (kid wise), so it was great to find something they really liked!

I do love the pavilion in Mexico. I agree with you about it---It is so beautiful. I love going in there---It's always dark and cool. You feel like you're on a little street at night in Mexico. But the ride, not so much.

I hate to sound so negative about the Mexico ride. I really do enjoy the pavillion, itself. I think it's beautiful---I love wandering around in there.

You'll have to try Teppan Edo. We really enjoyed the meal--all five of us.

This was my first DIS meet, and it was so much fun. Wish I was going in September so I could be part of another one.

However, as tempted as I am to catch up right now, I think I should get to bed. It's way late (or early too, I guess) and, even though we are in summer vacation mode over here, Miren has bible camp this week so we still have to get up and out the door in about 5 hours!! Sounds like you guys had a great time at Epcot. We have never eaten at the restaurant in Japan. Every time I read a review or see pictures, I always want to book an ADR there. Hunter is such a picky eater though.

Isn't it a strange coincidence that you were seated at the same table at Leanne's friends?!?! What are the odds of that happening? At least you weren't seated with complete "strangers".

It sounds like you guys had a good time at the Dis Meet. I was so very afraid that I wouldn't recognize anyone and would make a complete idiot of myself during the May 28th Dis Meet. Thankfully, I knew who everybody was. I love the fact that the Disboards have brought us all together and we've become friends.

Oh and I almost forgot......the boat ride in Mexico (that's what we call it too) is a bit underwhelming but we do it every trip.

Hi Keala! Actually we didn't find the shortest route until Wednesday---halfway through the trip!

We had a fun time in EP that first evening---enjoyed our dinner and the folks we sat with, and had fun taking pictures.

I understand about picky eaters, but mine liked it. Grilled chicken, steak, or shrimp and rice. What's not to like?

I wish I could have made the meet on the 28th. The DIS boards do bring a lot of people together. They also help my marriage. This way, I get my Disney talk out of my system by chatting with y'all and don't drive Kevin crazy talking about Disney all the time! :rotfl:
