Is there a way to do the dining pass thing and be an annual member? We have annual passes and I really want the 2 meals and a snack thing or whatever it is on a card... how does this work?

Technically no, since the DDP is only sold with a MYW/resort accomodations package. But, the plan isn't based on your ticket length or days amount, rather the length of your stay (nights) - so, you could book a package with a single day ticket per person. This will cost you extra money, but it will get you the dining plan.

By your user name it seems you are a family of 4 or 5. As an example, if you would need 3 children's tickets, and 2 adult tickets, you'd pay about $322 for 5 single day tix. The DDP costs $38.99 per adult per night, and $9.99 per child per night - this would run $539.75 for 5 nights. By simply getting a single day base ticket with a package, and then using your AP's for the remainder of your trip, you could get the DDP. If you are able to go this August or Sept. during the Free Dining promo - you would then actually save money, since you wouldn't be paying for the food. I believe the promo calls for a 5 night minimum stay.

If you go over to the WDW site and play with the trip planning section, you can see how it all works out. Even if you weren't to book anything on the site, it's a great resource for price comparisons. You can adjust all of the add-ons, and see what different things to do the total price of the packages.

Yes you can. If you have annual passes, and call the AP reservations line, you can get the Disney Dining Plan or Deluxe Disney Dining Plan. We just returned from Pop Century. Used the regular plan, and purchased no MYW tickets. Just our APs.

Well that's cool - when did that change? I know that DVC'ers could get the plan separately - but I've always read that you had to get it with a package otherwise. That's cool that you got it this way. :thumbsup2

They did in fact make the DDP or DxDP available to AP holders a couple of months back. Do compare the cost against the DDE card though. It might not be your best bang for the buck choice.

AP holders can now purchase a room/dining package, no tickets. Be aware that such a reservation counts as a package and is subject to the rules for cancellation and payment that apply to packages, not to room-only reservations.

You could not book "free dining" with an AP package. That promotion is only available with a full-price room/tickets package. AP holders often book the package with a one-day base ticket to get the free dining.

Okay, whats a DDE? LOL..... thanks
DDE is the Disney Dining Experience card. IIRC it is $60 for AP holders, and gets 20% off of food and drinks at most of the Disney table service restaurants. It covers up to 10 people, includes valet parking at the resorts. So depending on how many sit down meals you eat, if you do lots of signature dining, have a big group or order wine/drinks with dinner, the savings can add up. Details here.
