Are Rainforest Cafe and T-Rex on the plan?

Over the years, I've learnt not to read too much into other people's reviews, but you obviously know what you like and you seem to have made some well-informed choices.

Is Le Cellier a 2TS place, or does it not work like that these days? It's not a bad choice, as such, but hugely over-rated in my opinion. We used to enjoy it as a place to eat if we happened to be in that part of Epcot when we were hungry, but since the inception of the DDP, it seems to have become the holy grail of dining - I don't get it. If you can get Yachtsman Steakhouse for the same "cost", that would be a better choice in terms of quality and quantity.

I think you'll probably like 'Ohana. A bit of a change from a buffet, but still plenty of food. Mama Melrose is okay - nice atmosphere, but last time we ate there (in November) I was disappointed that my shrimp pasta came with a measly 4 shrimp! A fairly hearty portion of pasta, though. Bread costs extra!

It was 2 years ago when i went - I'm sure they still do most things, tomato ketchup, buckets of coke etc - it just didn't seem to be happening on the lunchtime we went - We were so disappointed, as were the children. I'm sure somebody on the boards would have said by now if they'd stopped it alot, i wouldn't worry - might be best to pick an evening though.

We were there last August at lunchtime and they did do everything. Maybe it was Hickory's day off when you went. We had a late lunch at around 2ish I think.

If you don't want to join in the fun, you just tell them when you check in and they sit you somewhere quite, so don't be put off. We didn't have the skillet. I had chicken, and the boys had burgers. Yes I know another burger.

One year my DS worked his way through the list in the brits guide of best burger places.

Definately - these are just our opinions - your going to get fors and against every restaurant - wouldn't be good if we all like the same!!!

Cant comment on the dining plan because we havent been fortunate enough to try it.
We are trying the Crystal Palace, 50's Prime Time and Beirgarten in May so will let you know what they are like.
Dont worry about choosing loads of buffets. My DH is a big eater and cant stand going to places that serve small portions. (If in doubt he always orders a side order of chips!)
Normally I'm still on my first plate and he is on his third!!
With all this fantastic food to look forward to my only tip would be to bring bigger clothes for your cruise

I'm sorry... I didn't read through all of the pages of posts, just the 1st couple... so if I am repeating, don't flame me. We happen to LOVE the San Angel Inn in Mexico... and the mariachi band adds to the atmosphere. as well as the feeling of sitting outside under the stars.... BUT.. I also heard they are planning a refirb in the near future, so I would check the dates.

I've eaten at Le Cellier many times and always enjoyed the food and as a previous poster says, I'd give it a chance if I were you just to make up your own mind. On the last 2 occasions (both last year) we were placed on cramped tables for 2, with the tables on either side less than a couple of feet away. Any chance of a private conversation was zero. As there are 3 of you, you should fare better though.

Both of your other choices above I've eaten at numerous times and have had good and so-so experiences at both, although the food at Cape May has consistently been pretty good. I never feel like a buffet is a special dining 'occasion', but that one is good value IMO.

I'm predicting you will compare all of them unfavourably with such places at the Ale House for value and ambience . I only do a few Disney meals each trip (and have no interest in the DDP) so I'll be very interested to read your comments afterwards

So heres my almost complete list, just need to add one more(spent another 2 hours reading tonight and can't decide on the last one) Have until Thursday to choose.

Hi Wayne, we have eaten at all but three of your choices and it will be interesting to hear what you think after your trip. So many different resturants so many different views! Ultimatley it is just down to personal choice and the only way to know is to try them out, which I am sure you will give it a good go

Good choices Wayne. The problem with dining reviews in particular are that they are simply people's opinions - you really have to find out for yourself with things like this. In the same way as some people may not like Splash Mountain whilst others love it.

We've got many of the ADR's booked that you've got down so you've clearly got taste!!

I have 17 nights and actually have lots o the same choices as you. We love Crystal Palace so will go there twice also. We are going to try Raglan Road as friends rave about it, plus over in DTD so a nice walk from SSR. Also, I have Turf Club for a few nights and would recommend even if you aren't staying at SSR. Really nice atmoshere. Very relaxed away from the hustle of lots of Disney restaurants. Will be interesting to see if we actually stick to all our ADRS. Have done 8 nights on DP before and by about night 4, we were seriously having difficulty eating the food. God only knows how people do the Deluxe Plan. Just had one CS recommendation. Wolfgang Puck is by far the best CS place. You get as much food as you do at a TS and they have a huge choice.

Great choices! We're doing some of the same in November. I totally agree with the fact sometimes you can read too much info and I know I sometimes feel overwhelmed by it all
As for that last ADR, I've heard good things about Teppen Edo and Le Cellier (although I remember you mentioning you were concerned over the portion sizes). What about Tusker House in AK? We really loved it there! Or Biergarten? (I think I may have recommended this before It's just that we really enjoyed it )

We are opposite with Raglan rd, friends told us to avoid an pics I have seen don't look great but you need to try for yourself. Turf Club was on list then took off, might put back on for our last choice.
Wolfgang Puck is on my list to try for CS lunch. Probably only place I have read that gets mostly good reports.

Going to try take lots of pics of food in August and little reviews what we thought of them all. Don't usually so will be a change.

PH is one of few places we have eaten at so we know we like there, hope it hasn't changed.

I would still recommend the Garden Grill in Epcot as it is another all you can eat (served family style rather than buffet)

Really good dessert too (although they do seem to change it about every quarter)

Hi Wayne. Well done on making your choices, we've done DDP twice now & I still hav'nt finalised ours. Just wanted to mention Kona Cafe for your last choice, although as in the name a cafe type restaurant, it has a nice atmosphere & we have had great service and lovely food during both our visits. We find particularly during the second week that we start to cancel TS meals as we get a bit bored with it. I'm interested to know how you get on.
