I'm planning a WDW vacation for myself and my 4 year old daughter. It is both of our 1st times! I've been to DL in CA several times but never WDW, so I'm doubley excited for her and myself! Here is where my dilema begins I originally planned to go Dec 13-17 because it is both value season and WDW will be full of Christmas magic! But, with the free dinning package opening up for reservations tommorow I'm being tempted to move our vacation to Sept 20-24. My only concern is the weather. Hurricane season really isn't a problem as far as I know because WDW is so far inland. But, the heat concerns me. I don't want to go in late Sept and have myself and my daughter be miserable and not enjoy oursleves. If I book in Dec I won't get the free dinning but I can book through AAA and get some sort of discount that way. I will be spending more moey but it would be worth it to ENJOY ourselves rather than be MISERABLE. What does everyone think? I need your help! I'm planning 5 day park hopper pass, a Disney value resort, and Disney Dinning weither I go in Sept or Dec. Thanks in advance for your help!

As a Florida Resident, I can say that it is still HOT in late Sept. at the World. We went two years ago during December - it was great. It just doesn't get any better than Christmas at Disney. :woohoo:

It is very hot still in September. Hurricanes are still an issue even with WDW being so far inland. Central Fla was pounded 2 years ago. Many of the homes in the area lost roofs and some of the DTD hotels had to close. One of those hotels only reopened last summer. Most of the signage along 192 was destroyed and many of the area residents were without for many weeks. I was at WDW in 2004 for the first of the hurricanes ( Charley). It was a good place to spend the time and I would.

We went last year the week before Christmas and it was incredible! You feel not only immersed in Disney but Christmas as well. The decorations are amazing and the park was not that crowded since the Christmas crowds hadn't made it in yet. I've never been in September, but December was great. I say go in December if you can - the experience is one of a kind!

You sound like you really want to go in December. So, I'd do that. There could also be codes or discounts that will come out for that time frame so you may not even have to pay full price. :) Just a thought.

If you're from the West Coast (which I'm thinking you might be because of your DL experience), you also have to prepare yourself for the nasty Florida humidity which makes the heat pretty miserable. You probably haven't experienced anything quite like it.

So far what everyone has said is SO true. I completely agree. But I'm surprised no one has mention that the parks are MUCH busier during the Christmas season - I think that's something you may also want to keep in mind. On the otherhand, I love the idea of my two favorite things - Christmas and Disneyworld. The fantastic atmostphere may just be worth the extra money and long lines - maybe. Make a list of the pros and cons - that always helps me! :thumbsup2
