OMG - I am here at work today and it is snowing pretty good. Our office is located in a restored Victorian home on the corner with a beautiful wrought iron fence around the yard.

Some drunk/high idiot just plowed through the intersection, across the sidewalk and through our fence into the yard - taking out the Victorian double lamp post. There were absolutely no skid marks. He didn't even try to stop. Couldn't even speak coherently when my boss (the atty.) went outside. Thank God the car stopped. It isn't 10 feet from our building. :earseek: :earseek:

:earseek: OMG Thank goodness you are ok!!
also glad that he didn't hit the home

Tammi -

I wanted to answer your questions about DC

Dh's conference is at the Ritz in Pentagon City (I think that is where he said - I remember thinking - oh good - I can shop) we will be staying through the weekend even though his conference ends on Friday - so he might ask his boss if he can stay at the embassy suites next door instead and them pay for the weekend for us to be in the hotel - I think the price would be the same!!

I would think if we had enough people who wanted rooms we might be able to get some sort of discounted room rate - not sure how many -

how about if we start keeping track of who will be going or who is at least seriously interested - I will be happy to arrange a big night out for us all as well as whatever else we want to do while we are there!!! I definately think a trip to Potomas Mills should be on the list!!!

The dates again are July 14-16 - if everyone starts PMing me that they are interested - I will start the organization
Oh I HATE Potomac Mills. Crowds, crowds, crowds. To me, it seems trashy, and I don't really think there are any great bargains there. And did I mention the crowds? But if you really want to go there.....

Anyway, I work in Alexandria, not the city proper, but on the outskirts, so I am quite familiar with that area. I can make some phone calls and inquire about rates and how many rooms are needed for a discount, and what that discount would be. Heck, I may take a mini vacation myself, even though it is only 50 miles from home. If you have specifics that you want me to look into, just let me know. I guess we should find out what everyone who would be going would want to do, be it touring DC, monuments, museums, ect., or shopping, or hanging, or whatever. Let me know what I can do on my end.

How long has it been since you lived here? I'm sure you will not even recognize the area, it is being built up so much.

Hey all!

I have decided I just can't keep up with y'all! :hyper: :faint: :rotfl: OY!

Anyway I need some help, from those who sell on Ebay.I really need to start selling stuff (I've purchased things before ) on there but I'm worried and a bit perplexed on HOW to get started SELLING. :confused3

I'm worried about the whole payment thing.I don't want to get scammed or s*crewed out of money.

Is PayaPal safe?

Do you have a totally seperate checking account that your Payapal account is linked to?

What about checks and money orders? Are they safe?

How much does Ebay charge you for an item being sold on there?

Is that charge taken out of your Payapal account?

How do you know how much to charge for shipping?

Do those shipping calculators some people have on their for sale items, cost extra?

I'm really in need of extra money and I have so much stuff I can get rid of but I don't know how!! :confused3

HELP!!! :earseek:

You can PM me with this info if you'd like.Thank you so much! :flower:

bear74...Erich was 7 mths old the first time...well the first time he was actually there I was 6 mths pregnant! I remember him kicking the heck out of me during the Spectro Magic Parade.I think he was dancing!! :cool1:

Anyway when he was 7 mths he LOVED the characters. The first time he met Mickey was in China and some how Mickey could make his nose move,Erich kept reaching for it.The next time we went back he was 15 mths old.The first day there we went to MVMCP.During the parade...it's the Toyland part of the Christmas parade...these 2... of all things...giant Teddy BEARS :guilty: came up to him, and scared the absolute heck out of him!! :earseek:  For the next 2 years (we go twice a year) he REFUSED to have anything to do with ANY costumed character. He did pose with Jasmine when he was about 3.I was devastated ...I thought he'd never see Mickey or Goofy again.
:( But when he was 4 he fell in love with them again,he was shy at first but got over it quicklyTG!!! :earsboy:

Rees is going down hill again. Thought he was better, but he just burst into tears and his temp is back up. Called school, and he and I will be home tomorrow. I'll take him to the Pediatrician in the am. Oh, well.

Yes, David-Logan was our guide. Davis adored him! And he and Brantley-Kate had fun laughing about the silent "hyphen" in their names. He was really, really good. The FMT was a blast.

Denise,

Read your trip report and looked at your pictures. Took three days between everything else. :goodvibes

Sorry Rees is still not feeling good. :grouphug: PD:wizard: coming your way.

Ok, for all you DDA'ers who are planning trips to DL, if you have questions, ask away! Now you are going to be in my territory! Seriously, I would love to answer any questions you might have.

Thanks so much!!! I will definitely be asking tons of questions. Just need to get through the holidays, first! ;)

Hope everyone got home safely in the snow!!! I would send warm sunny wishes from FL, but it rained all day here... I hope all the DDA's at Disney were able to stay dry! :sunny:

Well, I hate to say this, but I can't stay up and play on the boards tonight. I have to be up early for a training run. Only 4 1/2 weeks until the marathon and all the training is over - Yea!!! ;) Hope everyone has a wonderful evening!!! :wave2:

OK ... I'm TRYING not to be sucked into reading ... I haven't read since my last post. (I also had to go to a Cub Scout District meeting. blah!)

OK .... I NEED TWO SIDED PRINTING HELP

Did anyone do 2 sided printing?? How did you accomplish it????? In my head I was thinking about the Avery light sheets which I have done in the past. I was planning on doing 2 sided for DARK shirts (the Ebay stuff).

How did you do it?!?! Help! The iron is hot and I've already done the light shirts. (used Avery - came out GREAT!)

Please send help!

I had a thought! I have a wood tray table. Think I could do it on that???? The side which already has the transfer can hang down.

I also have a quilting table which I may be able to do the same thing with.

Thoughts? Will I kill my tray table? Can it take the pressure???

Baloo -- LOVE the saying Merry Stitchmas! Now I just need to find a font and see if I can paste it in -- I'm not good at that.

Thanks again! Sorry, but I don't know anything about Ebay.

OK - I'm confused. Do you want to iron on two sides of the shirt, or print the transfer on two sides?? Can you tell I'm tired!

When I ironed on the front and back of a t-shirt, I put a heavy cutting board inside a pillow case, then put the cutting board/pillowcase inside the t-shirt. I put the whole contraption on the ironing board. I ironed one side, let it cool for a while. Then flipped the whole thing and ironed again. Does that make sense??

;) I taught for 9 years - chorus/orchestra/AP Theory/asst. band (some combo of that each year). I became a SAHM 2.5 years ago, and there are times when I really miss the kids. I saw your post from before about how many recitals you had coming up... :faint: I don't miss the crazy Christmas schedule!!!! :goodvibes How are the recitals going?

crzy4pooh -- 4 down, 22 to go! I taught elementary school music for 9 years and then spent 10 yrs. at home as a SAHM while we moved all over the East Coast. I loved that too. When it was time to go back to work I literally lucked into the job I have now. I answered a blind ad for a music teacher at a private school 15 years ago and it seems as if I just started teaching there 4-5 years ago. Everyone should be so lucky! But you are right... the holiday schedule is horrific at times.

A print on the front and a different print on the back.

Problem is I don't have a wood cutting board! Damn bacteria police! I have a heavy plastic cutting board. I don't think ironing on it would be the best idea.

I was thinking I could do one side then after letting it cool, do the other side. Using the tray table, I can allow the shirt to hang off ... and not get re-heated.

I think I am just going to have to TRY one. Still open to ideas ,.. thoughts .. warnings ....

Today I was home suffering AGAIN  from back pain. Just happened to click on the Travel channel and watched some Disney shows. I had remembered watching the Fan Guide before but I cannot believe how I was laughing or crying so hard during the program this time while I watched it. :rotfl:
Just hearing the Wishes song did me in.
I wanna go back NOW
