I got a PM back from Baloo - she said she'd change the name if most of the answers back were positive about changing it. Please voice an opinion, if you have one on this! Thanks!

Sure -- it's fine with me

What about Disney Design Addicts: come in to chat or for advice

not sure how to word after DDA - but I think it HAS to have DDA in it!!

I definitely like the idea of having DDA in it.

And no, Amy -- I'm not just sucking up!!!! :cool1:

We did 2 rooms with cathedral ceilings in our old house, to include the ceilings. It about killed my DH :guilty: .

OK ... can I go you one better??? For some IDIOTIC reason, I did our bedroom myself. It has a vaulted ceiling and I decided to SPONGE it! I painted it and then sponged 3 separate colors. What was I SMOKING when I made that decision?!?!?! I haven't painted since!

DH insisted I was not making built ins for our study...
this was my summer project (of course before I found the DDA!!) :rotfl:

DH just saw them. His reply, "Damn - I'm jealous!"

I would rather spend a week off property then be your KING

Heidi - Skunka Hunka is picking on me again!!!!

Although - I must say anyone with a sense of smell might appreciate this!!!

yep - I used kitchen cabinets for the bottom and then built the bookshelves -
my dad helped me cut but I designed them and put them together - it was pretty easy - just time consuming

This is kind of what I want to do in our new room. We had planned on a "built in" wall using cabinets -- but it won't be all books. It wil be designed to hold a fish tank (large one) and also probably have some glass shelves with lighting for collectibles.

It's all in my head right now ......

It was pretty easy to plan - I say go for it - I built them for about $500 - the cabinets were the most expensive part!

My Dh & I have gone back & forth over whether to purchase the DVC for the past 5 years now...we end up getting a good deal (like the free dining in Oct) since we go off season so we haven't bought into it yet.
One thing that pushed us in that direction was the kids. They go to bed early (even at Disney, usually!). We don't like to, so if we weren't traveling with other family members (where we could hang out after puttting the kids to bed), we'd get 2 adjoining rooms so we could put the kids down early and still stay up and chat and watch tv in the other room. That gets expensive! And risky during busy times since Disney won't guarantee connecting rooms. Paying cash for DVC rooms wasn't an option....way too expensive! One room there was always more than 2 rooms at a mod or deluxe where we usually stay. So we needed an economical way to have a 1BR unit at Disney. Had some funds left from selling our last house so that money went to buy DVC....our home away from home!

I think Itslisa is after my spot in the post count. I think she's posted 5 times on this page. :rotfl: Oh well, I must go to bed as 6:30 comes early. Have fun

Deb

Kate, your built-ins look fabulous! Our last house had them and we miss them terribly! You did a FANTASTIC job on them! ::yes:: Nice choice on the bedding, too!

Ok guys .... some turbo pixie dust would be GREATLY appreciated.

I spent 7 hours today typing up some steps, info, rationales, etc for all the interventions that might be on our Clinical Skills Test (which I'm schedule for on Tuesday). I already felt like I'm completely screwed for this exam as it is, for reasons too legnthy to go into right now.

Well, I was opening my email on my laptop to email myself the file (or upload it to a website, but whichever... irrelevant). My computer crashed. "No big deal, I think... the file is saved".

Well now it won't turn on. We've done EVERYTHING we can think of. I'm freaking out, and Kyle is just saying "I'll take it to the Apple store tomorrow...blah blah blah". MEN (sorry guys). Seriously, there is NOT always a quick fix for everything.

I have to have this 47 page document TOMORROW morning to go over stuff in the lab, fill in areas that we never covered (and yet have to pull out of ... somewhere?)

HELLLLLLLLLLLP! :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: :earseek:

I plan to ... just need the ROOM first. LOL

We plan on adding on to the house. My Mom wants to sell her BIG house and live here part of the year. We are going to shift things around to give her a bedroom on the 1st floor. And decided to add on to the side of our home. A drive under garage .... a room extension on the 1st floor and MAYBE an extension on the 2nd floor -- depending on what costs will run. (but I REALLY want to!)

The new room would be our "family room" and man do I ever have plans for it! I just wish I had the budget for all of my plans! LOL

Hmmmmm ... could be!

It's a losing battle ... I leave on Friday for a week -- I'm doomed! LOL

Actually, I just read nd reply as I read .... so ... yes I'm not waiting for anyone one to reply .... Did that make sense?

Your laptop won't turn on?

I don't know squat about apples - did you push the reset button? or did you take out the battery and put it back in?
