He's spoiled now, he wants to go to the mall and eat at La Madeleine (broccoli, rotisserie chicken, mashed potatoes).

Can't say as I blame him, this sounds much better that what you would get at chik-fil-a (whatever that is?)

Also Amy I don't know about her supposed ego she has always been nice to me and I don't see it in her post on the CB.

It's just a joke, Heidi. :teeth: Kate is one of the most talented people I know. She builds bookshelves, makes incredible Christmas ornaments, designs amazing t-shirts and autograph book pages, arranges crackers and pepperoni beautifully on her swirled Mickey plate...I could go on and on.

I worship Kate...and I'm her #1 stalker (another joke, I swear!!!! :rotfl: )

Amy :)

Oh, Lynn!!!! With this post, I am surpassing you with posts on this thread!!!

Lynn = 247
Amy (and Kevin, I guess ;) ) = 248

We just watched Polar Express on Thanksgiving. Hadn't seen it yet. What a great movie! The kids are getting it for Christmas too.

I also like your philosphy on behavior. I am going to have to use that one.

It also helps that I have a husband who plays Santa during the holiday season. I can call him on his work phone, and he can use his Santa voice to talk to the kids. So far, they haven't caught on, but I don't dare use that too much longer with my oldest.

My comment on the break-up was not correlated to Midge's pregnancy, silly. I was letting Lynn know that she was nicknaming Kevin and me the names of a broken-up couple!!! :teeth:

One of my students (yes, I taught high school  ) was obsessed with the pregnant Midge doll, and she played with it in creative writing all the time. I had to take Midge away several times. Her belly comes off and the baby comes right out. I guess that's Mattel's version of a c-section. Weird!!! :rotfl:

Amy :)

I was a high school English teacher, too. I never got to confiscate anything so fun as a pregnant Midge doll! The only thing I ever confiscated were tobacco cans, face cards, etc.

Our kids went through the usual fighting and 'hating' each other, but I have two stories about how they did some things almost in front of us with funny results.

Howie--age now, 34 Guenna--age now, 31 and Steven--now age 26

So Guenna was in Kindergarden and Steven was about 10 months old. This was my third C-section and I needed a little more recovery time. While Steven was napping, I had Guenna dressed for school and she was ready and waiting for the car-pool. I fell asleep (just a little nap) and woke up to find her standing at the cedar chest in front of me with scissors, a paper towel neatly laid out with bits of hair on it. :earseek:
It seems that she told me she was going to cut her hair while I was asleep and I must have muttered something. :rotfl:
This was just a week before the school pictures and she had managed to cut off almost all of her bangs. Thank goodness my neighbor was able to salvage the damage done and make it look half way decent :goodvibes
She says that she very carefully laid out the paper towel, had a mirror set up and took care to trim. I was of course mortified because I had fallen asleep on the job :rotfl: :rotfl:

Been there, done that. When I was about 6 months pregnant with the twins I was put on bed rest. While I was resting one day, things got really quiet. I decided it was a good time for a nap (pregnant minds don't think so well). When I woke up, in my bathroom I found my sewing scissors, and some beautifl locks of blonde hair. I waddled to living room and checked DD's hair. There was nothing missing. I got really confused. As I fixed dinner, my DS came into the kitchen to help me, and I noticed his hair was jaggedly cut! I asked DD what had happened, and she looked at me and said, "You told me not to cut MY hair. You didn't say anything about Jacob's." I knew I was in for a lifetime of trouble with that girl!

Well, usually I confiscated cell phones, but I did have the pleasure of taking a kid's Mountain Dew bottle, because it was really filled with Mad Dog 20/20 (ewwww!) :earseek:

I posted this on the CB, but I bet I get more responses here...

Can anyone recommend a "garlic keeper?" My grandma has requested a container to store garlic on her counter. I saw a few on Amazon, but I'd prefer to just shop for one so I don't have to worry about it breaking.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Amy :)

I just read that and thought - why didn't she just ask us?!?!? :rotfl:

Although - I don't kwno the answer -someone here will - there is a cooking store right down the street from me -what about linens and things -although if you go there -then you have to go to Carter's and Chik fil A so you might as well just pay the shipping!!! :rotfl:

hey - this one at Amazon - has the wal-mart low price logo - maybe they sell them there!!
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/of...f=dp_bb_a//104-7227983-6153553?condition=all/

ETA: just called the super walmart -they don't have them

Thanks for researching for me Kate! I'll probably try Bed, Bath, and Beyond or Linens and Things, if I can find one of those coupons they're always sending me.

And, I might have exaggerated a little when I said I was done Christmas shopping. I'm done shopping for all the kids in our family...it's just those pesky adults who really need NOTHING! :teeth: I was so happy my grandma finally gave me an idea!

I had a rule that all bottles and cups had to be thrown away before they came into my classroom. I just had too many drunk kids in my classes my first year teaching, that I never wanted to go through that again. Drunk Freshmen are not a pretty sight.

.....excuse me while I try and catch up with Amy.

Did ya'll notice that I added a new ticker to my signature. I was hesitant adding it since it was not a Disney Cruise but I do what I can afford.
