I'm here, but headed to bed. Just finished doing the most depressing letter asking for Medicaid for Rees (medically necessary Medicaid for kids with disabilities). he does so well, but when you look at all the stuff on paper it's really hard to swallow. Oh, well. Doesn't matter. He's the most awesome kids in the world and I'm so lucky to be his mom and have him here instead of heaven. Ok, I'm crying and signing off. Sorry to be a downer, but being the parent of a special needs child is such a privilege and a heart breaker at the same time. Night all.
:grouphug: :grouphug: Hope you feel better today.

Holy crap I sure did miss a party last night!! You gals sure had a good time:

A boozefest with a giant phallyc symbol and seamen. It can't get any better for a girl!

I'm sorry I missed it.

My unfortunate Vodka incident was 17 years ago! I just recently started drinking orange juice again.

I had on of those incidents. Really, really, really bad night.

Missed another great party last night. Took me an hour to catch up on all your post. Laughed my way though. Sounds like it was a fun night for all.

Sending you tons of :grouphug: and :wizard: . He is so blessed to have such a kind and caring Mommy and Daddy. I honestly had no clue for quite awhile that any of your kids had any major problems. Good luck on getting the medicaid. You deserve any help you can get for your precious angels.

This is only the tip of the iceberg - She has no chance (it's a girl) - it breaks my heart!!

I have cried and cried over it - DH and I would raise her if we could convince her to let us but she is actually happy about it :confused3 She just has no clue and is surrounded by more clueless people - they let her stop being in the car seat at 2 - b/c she didn't like riding in it - no one has ever given her boundaries - we used to take bets on who would produce the first great grandchild and she was usually the best odds - she got sent off to a special school and that is probably the only reason Julia was the first!

The sad and scary thing is I have known quite a few people who have been in very similar situations. Most of them can't even afford to survive on their own let alone have a baby. More than one of them didn't know who the father was and one of them didn't even have a clue what color the baby was going to be. Not that it really matters, but I know that their Mother didn't have a clue about all the different guys of different race and ethnic background that here daughter was with.

For my friends sake I was so happy that the baby was the same race as her. That way she didn't have way more explaining to do than she already did. Most of them still struggle to even pay basic essentials such as rent. It is so sad and I feel really bad for them.

I wonder if it is anything like why I won't drink tequila anymore? (at least straight up!!)

Why does tequila make your clothes fall off??? Like in the song by Joe Nichols.

Sorry I couldn't resist. It is a major running joke here about that song.

With all of you talking about alcohol and fudge you remind me of a** fudge that my friend and I would make in college. Not sure where the name came from. It was a basic fudge recipe but you add cherry brandy and sliced up marischino cherries, I don't know the amounts off the top of my head. It ends up more like a chocolate cherry dip than a fudge. But boy is it yummy. We also would make fudge with Kahlua as well.

:grouphug: They are all lucky to have such a wonderful mommy as well. It is really a blessing to see children who have the parents they need and deserve. The whole family looks so happy in every picture you share. You aren't a downer at all. Instead, I am touched by the love you have for your family.

Amy & poohangel -

I have been thinking about something special to do for your little ones - and I finally figured it out - any other DDAers who would like to go in on this gift with me please let me know - also this offer stands for anyone who gets pregnant or even has a grandchild on the way...

I would like to pay for your babies admission and food at WDW until their 3rd birthday - I know adding another one to your family might make you feel like Disney will be too expensive - so I would like to lighten the load so that you can take them while they are young - I think it is so fun to see your little one at WDW around the age of 2!!!

But there are a couple of us on the DIS that are from Long Island!!!!

I hope that doesn't mean they want to eliminate you Marti because I don't feel that ruling is fair.
