I just wanted to add that my sister used Match.com. 1 year later the man she was dating from a "match", proposed to her!!!

They are getting married April 22, 2006!!

Yes, Virginia, there is love on the internet! My 19-yo niece met someone over the internet in a chat room that she frequents. They've gotten together with friends quite a few times, then they started dating, and now they're getting married in December. I haven't met the guy yet (she lives in Alabama, so I rarely get to see her). But he's in the Army, and is stationed in Hawaii. My DSis and DBIL like him alot (and my DBIL's a pretty tough judge), so he's probably okay. I'll make my own decision on that when I meet him at the wedding!

The happy endings are good. They are nice to hear about. Bars and Clubs just don't seem like the place to meet people. People are less approachable in those places.

I have to agree with you on that one. What we need are organized singles meets at WDW. I think Disney is missing out on this one

I had some trouble earlier, too. I usually go through MSN, but it wasn't working properly (I've had trouble getting into the news articles on MSN lately, too). Finally, I got through using Yahoo's browser. If you're using MSN as well, that could be the problem.

The site was down earlier I think. Now it back up. I use IE and connect through work and it was giving me an error that I usually get when the servers are out. Should be back now, I was just in there.

I just read the entire thread and I wanted to tell ya'll that one of my very good friends met her husband through an Internet dating site. They didn't live near each other but he was willing to relocate and they are married with a 5 year old daughter (and they're totally normal people, btw).

Now I must say that I don't know everyone who has posted to this thread, but I do "know" a few of you and I'm having a hard time reconciling the fact that such incredibly cool people are having a hard time finding a match .

I probably won't be doing any traveling for a few months (at least). I'm just starting a home-based business, and money's a bit tight right now. Hopefully by the end of the year, things will be looking a little better.
