Disney dangled the visual weinee & Mickeystoontown gobbled it up! 10/26

What a fun update, Lisa. We've done all three golf courses, and this one is by far my favorite (and I think a tad easier). I would brag too if I got a hole in one. Especially since my husband cheats (he gets the really small golf club...the KIDS size!).

I love your reaction to your hole in one, and nice that the guys got one too.

I love how they themed it, and love the snoring Santa.

The miniature golf looks like so much fun! I've had it on the list to try several times in the past but have just never made it there. Someday!

Love, love, LOVED these updates!!!

This one, however....

Sooooooo, you can imagine the immense joy that overcame me when I made a hole in dadgum one! Take that suckas! Boom bam, that would be a hole in one thank you very much! :cheer2:

Oh you boys are tired of hearing me talk about my HOLE IN ONE? Well, I was tired of hearing you cackle when I got stuck at the top of the racers. So take that and that and that and that. :joker: Okay, so I’ll stop rubbin’ it in your face. Shall we move on? Please m’am, let’s do.

This had me rolling! :rotfl2: You guys just have too much fun! I love it!!

That looks like a lot of fun! We have never done mini golf at Disney looks like I'll have to put that on my Disney bucket list to do on a future trip.

It was a "Hole" lot of fun! :lmao:

I am still here! Just popping in to tell you Im alive! I am so hopelessly behind! But now I have plans for tomorrow night/Sunday afternoon! Have a great weekend!

Hey girl! You've been through a lot lately. Have fun catching up!

The golfing looks like a blast! I have never thought of doing mini golf while at Disney but not I just might have to give it a try in a few weeks!

Wow all 3 of you got holes in one pretty impressive ::yes:::thumbsup2

Can you believe it? Three holes in one! We must have chosen the easy side.

This had to be the easier course if I got a hole in one. :rotfl:

Same thing here. Said we wanted to do it but never got around to it.

This had me rolling! :rotfl2: You guys just have too much fun! I love it!!

We had such a fun time on the course and it was a nice way to end our time at Blizzard Beach.

Let’s Go Jungle! We’ve got fun and games!

Once we got back to the resort, we all laid around a while and rested. I don’t know what it is about swimming or playing in the water that always makes me tired and hungry? We snacked a bit from the things that we brought from home and our Garden Grocer order and, generally, just became bums for a couple of hours.

Eventually, though, we could be bums no longer as we had dinner plans. One by one, we took showers and got dressed for the evening. Tonight we were going to Downtown Disney again. Hunter had requested that we got to Disney Quest for a while before our dinner reservations and since we had the water parks and more option, it wouldn’t cost anything extra so why not?

When we arrived at Downtown Disney, we were met with lots of construction walls. I’m talking a kagillion of them. Ugh! :headache: I know that it’s for the good of Downtown Disney but it was a pain in the backside making our way through the throngs of people who were now confined to just the thoroughfare the walls created. We made it to Disney Quest, scanned our bands and entered the elevators. Immediately, Hunter saw the human pinball machine and a new game was starting so he was able to walk right on.

I know that he was in the top three highest scores but I can’t remember if he came in second or third.

While Hunter was playing pinball, I went in search of a restroom and somehow ended up on one of the upper floors by the restaurant/counter service whatever it’s called and I could see waaaay down. Freaked me the heck out! :scared1: I know that I talk about my fear of heights a lot but it’s because I’m afraid of heights and I can’t help it! After wandering for what seemed like forever, I found a restroom, made my pit stop and then wandered back to where I left Hunter. I didn’t see John or Hunter. They weren’t answering their phones either so I sat down on the bench by the pinball game and figured that one of them would either call me or come looking for me. They did, about a half hour later. :rolleyes1

We wanted to do something together even though I suck at video games almost as badly as I do at sports. The line for Pirates of the Caribbean wasn’t that long so we got in line and then watched the people on the Jungle Cruise game next to it. One group was doing great and another was paddling like crazy but not getting anywhere on their virtual cruise. Our line moved forward every now and then and it was almost our turn to enter the room:

We chatted with a castmember as we were waiting our turn and they said that the slow moving line (we didn’t really notice but he said that it was) was due to a new CM in training. Like I said, we couldn’t really tell and I wondered if he were saying that in front of the new CM just to make her hustle more. ??? :confused3 The group that was in the room came out and we were given instructions on what to do and in we went. The screens started moving and we were sailin’ and shootin’ cannonballs as fast as we could. I know that the people outside could hear us hootin’ and a hollerin’ but we didn’t care. We were having fun! I don’t know if the game kept score or not but it really didn’t matter to us. Like I said, we had fun and that’s all that matters.

By the time we were done with Pirates of the Caribbean, the line for the Jungle Cruise had gotten a little long and we didn’t want to wait. There were lines and lines of video games and we found three games that were alike right next to each other. It was some game where you are the driver of a Jeep and you had to chase wildlife, toss out a rope, catch it and do something with it on a wildlife preserve or something. Obviously, I didn’t pay much attention to what we were supposed to do after we caught it. I do know that we weren’t hunting them but protecting them. :thumbsup2

Anyway, I could never get the hang of tossing the rope and catching the animals. It took John a while before he figured out how to do it. Our Jeep would skid to a stop and we’d yank the heck out of the animals’ necks and the rope would break. It was apparent that if this were real life I would not only suck at sports but I also suck at saving poor innocent animals running free. I think that I’ll stick with my job as a paralegal. ;)

John and Hunter went to play:

Admit it! You are now signing “Welcome to the Jungle!” aren’t you? You’re not? It’s just me? Ooops!

I watched through the back glass of the Let’s Go Jungle truck:

They were popping all sorts of scary creatures left, right and sideways. And, they played and played and played. This was one of those times when you wished that your kiddo wasn’t so great at some things. Things like playing video games. He and John kept shooting down the creatures and never ran out of lives. In the meantime, I wandered back over to the line of games and tried my hand at a few of them. I didn’t master any of them but it did help to pass the time.

After they were done, we went to another floor to see what we could find. Hunter found a recording/sound studio and went in to record a song:

In the meantime, I tried my hand at making a misfit toy. I never could figure out what I was doing so I asked John to come over. John’s pretty good at figuring things out and he couldn’t figure it out either so I didn’t feel bad.

John gave up after a while and went over to watch some young guys trying to win a prize in one of the type of games that are virtually impossible to win. I looked all over google images for a picture but I can’t find one. You put in a dollar (possibly two) and you used a joystick to raise a flat thing and fit it straight into a hole. If you did that, you won a big prize. Not a stuffed animal big prize but like a nice cellphone or a nintendo or something similar. The guys came super close but would never win. They fed dollar after dollar into the game. They eventually gave up after their mother told them that she was going to leave them and they’d have no money to buy food with since they were now broke and she’d have to buy them dinner.:rotfl:

John said that he was going to give it a try and just knew that he would be able to do it after watching the other guys try for so long. Yeah, how’d that work out? It didn’t! About $20 later, he gave up. :faint:

We still had just a little bit of time before we needed to leave for our dinner ADR and we decided that we’d do Buzz’s Astrowhatevertheyarecalled.

When we got there, the castmembers were out on the floor with flashlights looking for something. They came out of the fencing/gates and put a few little things on top of a tray and then turned the ride back on. The ride was finished up and it was time to load up the next round of folks. They were loaded in. It started up and then one of the castmembers stopped it again. Out they went onto the floor with their flashlights and this one guy was loving his job. You could just tell it. He was one of those nerdy types who probably has never been in charge of anything in his entire twenty+ years on Earth. So, when he was able to tell people what to do on this ride, he was loving it. I’m not making fun of him. It’s just the way it was.

Anyway, after about ten minutes, the guy gave the all clear to start it back up and then yelled “STOP” and went back out on the floor with his flashlight again. He had one little something in his hand. The other castmembers were telling him to hurry up because the line was backing up. Those same castmembers were talking to us and told us that he did, indeed, love his job and took it very very seriously. (Said with a lot of sarcasm) Turns out that there had been a few little beads on the edges of the ride and he was afraid that they would get sucked up into the machines and hit people in the cars. Okay, so I appreciate the fact that he was concerned but he was taking it to the extreme.

We were just about to the point where we were going to give up and leave when he said to let everybody in and we were loading into our car. Quite honestly, it wasn’t that fun to any of us. That could have been because we weren’t really in the mood to ride anymore because of the long wait or it could have been ‘cause we were starting to have hunger pains. Who knows?

**Up next: Imitation is said to be the biggest form of flattery?!?

awwww Lisa!! Finally have time to post. I've been reading (at work) but no time to add comments. Of course, now I have no idea what all I wanted to say. Anyway, we LOVE LOVE LOVE the Pirates of the Caribbean game at Disney Quest. It is a must do (over and over and over) every time we go there.

Glad you guys enjoyed it too!! Other than that I usually sit and WAIT for my gang to get their vacation video game fix!

You are a SAINT woman. Mary and I were ready to scream after 20 minutes at Disney Quest and the two hours we were there with the girls seemed to be an eternity. Next time we will definitely agree to the Water Park with the girls.

$20 later? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: those guys truly are suckers for those things.

Can't wait to hear where dinner is.

You sound like me. I'll read somebody's report but then forget to post or don't have time to post. When I do get the time, I've forgotten what I wanted to say. :lmao:

I wish that we had thought to do Pirates of the Caribbean game again. It was fun!

It was so unlike John to spend his money on a game like that. He's usually a penny pincher on games. Heck, we went to eat at Margaritaville Casino in August and we didn't even play a single game.

Loved your pictures of Blizzard Beach and Winterwunderland. Both look like fun. I've never been to Disney Quest either. The Mini golf looked like fun-might need to try that in January but think I'll pass on water parks and Disney quest this trip.

Waiting to hear more.

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao: It sounds like you and I would do well together in sports! And by "well" I mean sitting safely on the side lines far from the action cheering others on. :rolleyes2:rotfl: I totally get the excitement of the hole in one! Very impressive!

I have never been to Disney Quest but it looks like it was fun!

:lmao::rotfl2::lmao: At John trying to win the game, my husband is the same way, now I know to keep him away ::yes::

So glad to see that ya'll played mini golf! We LOVE that course and the Fantasia course as well but the one you guys played is our favorite!

Oh that pirate game is a hoot! We hoop and holler the whole time while battling the ships.

I've never done either of the mini golf parks at WDW, but George and I do plan to in December. Good job to each of you for getting a hole in one!

We also plan to do DisneyQuest in December, which is something else I've never done. The pictures are cool. And funny that John had to spend that $20 to try to win the prize, even after watching the other guys fail. Men! :lmao:

Another one who was an updating fool!!! I LOVE your mini golf adventure! your all so dang cute! YAY on the hole in one!!! :cheer2: I downright suck at mini golf and it makes me mad. :rotfl2: Stupid ball... Round ball square peg kinda thing... But it is SO dang cute!!! Love all the Christmas themes and decorations!

You all are such a fun family! I LOVE reading along!

Never been to Disney quest! It does look like Family fun! Sorry you got lost! but i laughed.. sorry... :rotfl: Only because it's something i would do. :rotfl2:

again you guys are so adorable together and lots of FUN!!!

Disney Quest. UGH!!!

Sounds like you didn't have a terrible time, and that is probably the best thing that can be said.

Not my favorite place, can you tell? But the boys like it. :headache:

Actually, the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction is pretty cool.

We were some of the ones floundering on the Jungle Cruise ride when we tried it. Couldn't row row row our boat.

The Buzz Astroblaster thing- very whiplash if I remember correctly.

The main thing I didn't like about our trips to DQ was that people were very rude. They would be at a game and since there was no time limit, they would stay on, even if others were in line waiting to play. Then, a couple of times when my boys were waiting for a game, and the person playing it finally stopped, other people tried to swoop in and cut them in line.

:sad2:

Fun update! We did the Winter Summerland Mini golf 3 of the last 4 trips. We did Winter in 2004 and then again in 2011, then Finally did Summer this past trip in October on our last day since we had a late flight, I got a hole in one too, but I don't remember which hole it was.

Back to the previous update, I love Blizzard Beach!! We were there in 2011 and did the golf first so we got good and hot, then cooled off in the park. I love the lazy river but I don't love to sit on the tube because I feel like I can't control where I go, I go in and put my arms through and float that way, although I would like it to be deeper for that. I did about half and half the last go round.

I love the family raft ride and the tube slides too. I am not a fan of going face first so I don't like the toboggan racers, Tim and my (now ex) BIL went on them but I didn't, I tried to meet up with them after but never could figure out where they would come out so I just went on the lazy river again.

we have been to Disney Quest twice. I hate that it takes forever to figure out what you're supposed to do. but MY favorite section? the floor with all the video games from the 70's!!!! unlimited Quebert! donkey kong! Mr doo!asteroids! Centipede! dig dug! pac man!!! etc etc!!!
those were the years when video games were arcaed type games! never mind realistic looking people blasting each other away or kick boxing each other! I want to play Crazy climber!! or Kangaroo! Tetris!
I could have stayed there for hours. I remember our Coleco vision game.. I was the Ladybug QUEEN!!! lol
once we bought the "no expiration" option on 10 day passes with water parks and more. we used 5 days of tickets on one trip and 5 on the next. (on e trip we also rented points at Vero beach and were just at WDW for a short time.. don't remember about the 2nd trip)
anyhow, each of us had/have 10 water parks and more options!!! which never expire!! I think I have 7 left and nebo has 8 (I went to typhoon laggon with our son's family and nebo stayed at the resort cause he had a possilbe concussion after fainting and falling at MK the night before.. sigh)

or maybe it's 6 and 7.. not really sure.. but we thought we wouldn't waste them on Disney Quest. but now I'm thinking we will use it for that sometime.. the last 4 trips we haven't felt like doing water parks. I love it.. he just doens't like to do all the stairs for the slides. we do love those lazy rivers, though!!!
