I know this is probably answered somewhere but I just couldnt seem to find the answer.

If I were to book a Disney Cruise with my chase visa and just the cruise alone, would I qualify for the 0% financing for 6 months? What constitutes a package for a cruise?

I am looking to add a cruise on to the end of my current vacation so I already have airfare and hotel.

TIA!

For the purposes of the Disney Visa 0% financing offer, a DCL cruise is considered a "package." The hotel and airfare that you already have booked separately will not qualify.

To clarify... room-only reservations, even if booked directly through Disney, do not qualify for the offer. Neither do ticket-only purchases.

Enjoy your cruise!

That was my concern because I know room only doesnt qualify for the 0%. Thanks!!

Probably a stupid question but if you don't mind if I interject? If I were to book a cruise and use a TA, could I still use my Visa to pay and get the 0% for 6 months? Thanks!

As dcassetta said, yes. That's how it should happen. But make sure your travel agent is having DCL charge directly to your Visa. (Some agencies will run the charge and then turn around and give a different form of payment to the cruiseline - sometimes for shady reasons, sometimes just to get whatever perks their credit card gives. If the agency runs the charge, you don't get your 0% perk because it is no longer a "Disney package" it's just a charge at a travel agency.)

That is sneaky!

Thank you soo much, makes perfect sense and I appreciate the info!

A few days before your cruise, you can also add an on-board credit (for tips, excursions, etc.) using your Disney Visa and you will get 0% interest on that. However, once you're on board, the charges you spend on your Disney Visa don't qualify for the 0%. I try to estimate what I will spend on board and then have my TA charge it before my cruise.

I plan on taking advantage of putting money on account before my next cruise, I didn't realize that would work. I always prepay my tips when I book my cruise so that gets finance as part of the cruise.

Also, if you visit the future cruise desk, and have your Disney Visa on file, when you book your next cruise or place holder they will finance the deposit as well for 6 months as it's own "trip".

Currently I have 2 deposits and one cruise going through the pay down process all with different pay by dates. I love the option that I can wait until the very last minute to pay for the cruise in full then still have 6 months to pay it off, instead of spreading out the payments in advance of the PIF date. And we had a deposit that was partially paid when MIL upgraded us to a balcony from an inside stateroom and we added the increased deposit on our card and they treated that additional charge as it's own "package".

My TA pays Disney direct for me so I am sure to get the free financing and reward dollars.

I agree, I love having the extra six months to spread out our payments!

Can your deposit on a cruise through your TA qualify for the 0% for 6 months? I thought I read that you can, according to the Disney VISA FAQ page, then get another 0% for 6 months when you make final payment. Am I interpreting this correctly?

Yes you are interpreting it correctly. As I said earlier in this string, just make sure your TA is processing your credit card charge directly with DCL to get this financing perk.

ANY payment made towards cruise, as many as you want will have that perk, so you can spread them out as you wish. This is what it looks like on your statement. We’ve always used an agent-never have had issues with 5 cruises. And remember you earn $1 in Disney dollars for every $100 spent. Transfer that to a card right before your cruise for spending :)

@mammacaryn My statement looks like that too. :D

I actually keep a spreadsheet of each deposit and each cruise payment, what the monthly payments are when spread out over 6 months and how much I owe in total every statement until they are paid off. :mickeybar
