For those that have done the Disney cruise, where is the best place for us Canadians to book through? And is there a best time of year to cruise for good weather but decent prices.

I use Magical Journeys - Melissa is great. Everything is via e-mail - very low maintenance. I have also heard Dreams Unlimited (the agency responsible for these great boards) is also excellent. I would have used them myself but I found MJ first through another board before I found the DIS. I would suggest checking out the DIS Home page and going to the DCL section. You can get a quote through them. I have always made air/hotel etc bookings seperately so have only booked either a) the DCL cruise, or b) hotels at WDW (ie on-property) through MJ.

Good luck - we LOVED our cruise and have another coming up in November.

We used Dreams Unlimited for our cruise this March and they were great. Everything was done online and via e-mail. I even changed my dates and had a few other requests and they were very responsive. I shopped around quite a bit and could not find a better price.

Orginally we were going to go in October becuase after doing tons of rsearch I thought it was the least expensive time. A family emergency came up and we had to move the trip to March. The weather in March was great but we paid more. We have done Disney in October before and the Hurricanes have always been kind to us but I was concerned about not getting to stop at Castaway Cay if we went in October.

We have another cruise planned for next year but it is the first week and March, before the school breaks start up. The price is quite a bit better if you can go before the peak school holiday season. If are a flexiable, I bet Feb is very good as well.

The last time we went on the Disney Cruise, we sailed on Oct 30 and the weather was fantastic! It was hot but we didn't experience that extreme heat that can be so tiring. Plus we really enjoyed the Halloween activities on the Magic, especially the trick or treating that was organized by other passengers from the DIS.

When we went in March 2005 (surprisingly not very busy), we booked through Costco travel. Its through the web site, just go to costco.com and select travel from the top menu.

We went in Feb 2005, the weather was quite cool. We did the 7 day Land & Sea, it was fantastic. The best of both worlds. I would agree with the OP about the 1st week of March. Better weather and smoother seas. :wave2:

I also used Dreams Unlimited for our upcoming cruise in January 07. Everything was done online and through email. They were great at getting back to me with all of my many, many questions!! (we are first time cruisers :)

I did a little bit of research and the pricing I received was better than I saw elsewhere.

Good luck!

We booked our first cruise (Apr. 2007) through our CAA agent. She offered us a great price(we did alot of shopping around) and we like having someone we know to help us out.
I'd say check around and get some quotes from different places.

We've used DU, SWV and CAA-I would definitely use DU and SWV again.

Should have added March, May and December-always calm seas and great weather (but then again anything is better than weather in Canada in the winter :) )

We booked directly with DCL as we are first timers!

Did you book online? or did you call them? and did you shop around? I'm debating on weather to just book with DCL itself or not.

We used Small World Vacations and they were great! They are the second largest DCL agency behind AAA for cruises.

Before you do that I really recommend you check Travelocity. We originally planned the Disney land/sea for our August trip and they were much lower for the package than Disney (and they price in CAD - makes it simpler). We've used them for many things and have never had a problem.

P.S. After lots of price shopping we ended up cancelling the land/sea on the Wonder and for less money are having 5 days at the AKL in a deluxe sevannah room with free dining and then taking a 7 day Western Caribbean cruise on the RCCL Mariner in an E1 balcony. The thrifty side of me just couldn't go the other way....

Thanks Annette, have only got a room on hold right now, so will go check out Travelocity. Thanks for the heads up :thumbsup2

UPDATE: Just checked them and they are the same exact price as I got through both DCL and CAA
