Since these are more general questions, you would likely get more responses over on the Cruise board.

I've only been on one cruise so far but have 2 more booked. Summer and holidays are peak times so avoid those if looking for a deal. My one cruise was at the beginning of October and it was very reasonably priced, or reasonably priced by DCL standards. If you don't mind waiting to book until close to your cruise time, you can often find what are called GT rates. There are major restrictions, i.e. no changes or refunds after booking, but the rates are at a nice discount.

Hurricane season is June1-December 1. Itineraries can be changed as needed by the Captain to avoid a big storm.

If you have your heart set on Atlantis, be aware than the cruise lines can skip a port for a variety of reasons including avoiding a storm, port not available at last minute, strikes at ports, etc.

Summer holidays, school breaks etc are pricier than the odd week in early November.

I assume you mean the Atlantis resort in the bahamas?

Why not just take a trip to atlantis? That way you're not paying twice and don't have to worry about the chance that you'll skip the port?

It's great to plan early! I just wanted to point out that DCL hasn't fully released 2016 itineraries yet, so it will be quite a while before 2017 is available for booking.

We just took a cruise on the Disney Dream and had a wonderful time. Not too crowded and weather was very nice. We were able to rent 2 scooters for my parents from Walker Mobility which really made the trip enjoyable for them as well.
