Hi there. I was the guy who had posted pretty much the exact same question as you. And I'm so happy to see the same responses.
Years ago, I'd have thought Disney in general was only for families, never considering that one day I'd be part of a family of two. As time went by, Disney has proven time and again, without fail, that they consider my partner and I just another aspect of what they consider a family. So my love of all things Disney has grown and grown.
We've gone to the parks, stay at resorts, dance at Pleasure Island, chat with other guests, joke with cast members, eat, drink, play and rediscover our childhoods each and every year.
Over time, I had become interested in
DCL but was a tad hesitant. Sure, I thought, Disney is accepting, but what about the guests? I just figured going to WDW was different. We weren't "stuck" onboard a ship. We had options. We could leave. A dissatisfied guest could leave. But a ship? Unless someone was willing to jump overboard, you're out of luck!
So I posted the same question you did. And I crossed my fingers. And I was so incredibly overwhelmed by the support, the well wishes for our continued happy relationship, the outpouring of understanding. I would print out pages of responses and show them to my partner. We'd read them together. We laughed out loud. We smiled. A couple of times the support was so great, one or both of us would get a lump in our throats.
Although we can't sail this year due to so many other commitments, we're going to sail in 2005! And we're going to swim, snorkel, eat, drink, laugh, play and have the best time ever! I, for one, can NOT wait!
