Disney Cruise transfer payment question

When are you charged for the Disney Cruise Line transfers? Do you pay it when you pay in full for the cruise or is it charged to your on board account? We plan on taking the transfers from the cruise back to the airport so we can take advantage of the on board check in for our flight home. We will take private transfers to the port though. Thanks for the help!

It depends on which transfers you're talking about.

If you booked transfers already (before your cruise) the cost is added to the reservation and you pay it that way.

Or you can add them once onboard and it will be charge to your onboard account.

I was told you have to do it 3 days before the cruise. It says on the website if you want a one way transfer you have to call you can't book it online. I've never used DCL transfers, but Ive researched it for our upcoming trip. I'm still undecided. Car rental prices went from 550.00 for 12 days down to 185.00 for a 12 day rental. I still have to pay for parking at the port. I had ruled out renting a car, but it's looking more promising. I check car prices daily now it's like a challenge to see how low I can get it.

It depends on which transfers you're talking about.

We plan to add them today before we pay in full for our reservation. I'm guessing then it'll be added to the entire amount of the cruise. What if we add them after the paid in full date but before our sail date? We are travelling with friends and just want to make sure we coordinate with them.

If you add them after the paid in full date, but before you actually embark, you'll be charged for them at that time.

I'm fairly certain that you can add post-cruise transfers while onboard. It will be charged to your onboard account, and they will add a sticker to your KTTW card reflecting the transfer. If you know for certain that is your plan, I would call in advance anyway just to be sure it's taken care of and one less thing to worry about doing onboard.

Thank you I will keep that in mind. If all four of us were going it wouldn't even be a question I would rent the car. For two people a car and parking would cost 125.00 dollars more. Of course I can pick up water, alcohol and snacks, there's some savings there. We're staying at the BC for 7 nights post cruise, but I would also be able to drive around WDW and check out some of my favorite resorts. I haven't seen the Poly since the renovation, or the Wilderness lodge. I would love to stop by AKL. As you can probably tell I'm leaning towards renting the car. I'll probably cancel my Airport Hyatt res, and stay at the Hyatt place by the airport for 110.00 less, rent the car and call it even.
