Disney Cruise Swap - Swap Complete!

Did you use SCAL or CDS for the pirate head border? I love it.

Your snorkel Mickey is adorable.

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

For the pirate head border, I used CDS using the skull from LAB, alternating 2 different sizes.

The snorkeling Mickey I saw about a year ago, and thought, he is so cute, I wish I could do something like that with my Cricut. But I just got SCAL about 2 weeks ago, and so I thought I would try it on this swap. So Captain Mickey was the first, then Sorcerer Mickey and then the snorkeling Mickey. It gets easier with each one I do, but I have to say that I just love how easy titles are with it and the shadowing is. It used to take me a couple of hours to do a title with the shadow so that it would line up just right, but now it is maybe 5 minutes! What takes the longest is trying to figure out what font to use! :lmao:

Downrivermama, sorry to hear of your hectic day. Maybe you need a coconut drink!

I wasn't that bad, but I'll take a umbrella drink anytime! Actually on one of mine I did journaling boxes and it has a pineapple drink with an umbrella on it.

Downrivermama, your package arrived today! That was fast!!! Everything looks awesome!! The Palo colors are perfect, and I love how you used the eyelets on the cruise ship!

kkbeaton2, your pieces are absolutely stunning!!! :lovestruc

2 weeks! You've had SCAL for 2 weeks and you created these fabulous pieces:faint: I need to go on a cruise just so I can rationalize joining this swap next time.

Wow! That was fast. I've only been to Palo once and knew the colors were yellowish. Glad you like them. I finally gave my Cricut a work out!

It has been a very hectic week. These will be in the mail tomorrow, priority with DC. Pics are uploading, will post a little later. I accidently only made 6 tropical Mickeys, so I sent an empty bag with a note saying to send it (the empty bag) back to me.

I was just poking around this swap to see what everyone has created and WOW! Everything looks sooooo great.

I'm just learning about SCAL? and haven't had the time to really look into it just yet, but from what I can see, it's going to the top of my wish list.

I think I'm a pretty good scrapbooker, but you guys have me really Wowed!

I have a couple of questions.

1. All the Character disigns that I'm seeing in your posts. Donald in a life jacket, Mickey in snorkel gear, I've seen Mickey in Safari gear (AK Swap). Are those done with SCAL? Or some other program that I don't know about?

2. I've also seen people use a simple photocopy and copy it to multiple colored pages and cut and piece everything together. I would imagine that SCAL and the Cricut would be faster? But does anyone use the photocopy process?

Like these examples done by HopeMax. How did you make these? They are all really wonderful. I love Mickey sunbathing.

Yep, all the paper piecings and the "Lifeboat Drill" title are all done with SCAL.

That's all SCAL. She used a coloringbook to scan in and break apart the layers. I know someone, on an old swap, did the method you said, but I don't know who or what on... I only saw it... maybe someone else remembers. I think it was a Goofy in safari gear?

(Hopemax is our resident expert in it, she makes awesome things.... I aspire to her greatness.... :goodvibes: :p)

Updating...I have three groups completely done. Those character spots are giving me a load of grief, but I'm working on them.

Great work Ladies!
I wonder if Donald will get mad when he noticed the MM eyelet on the top hat?:goodvibes

On your Mom's colors pieces, is that Magic Mesh? Where do you get that at?
Or what did she use?
I hope I get some of your pieces!

Nice work everyone! There are so many great pieces that I will be getting! I'm so excited!

Hopemax - what font did you use for the lifeboat drill?

I told my mom the same thing about the Mickey eyelet!:lmao:

I don't know what is was she used on the color pieces, we just found it the fiber bin in the scrap room. Its cool though, the stuff on the photo mats lifts up to put a photo under and then sticks right back down.
