Do DVC members get any kind of discounts on your average Disney Cruise? If a member did NOT want to use points on a reservation, is there any advantage for booking with member services? TIA
You have to at least book 1 person on points then pay the rest on cash, I actually called last week to inquire and get a qoute, i was surprised that it was about $200 less compared to DCL website, which is good but you have to pay in full when you make a reservation.
DCL does not give many discounts at all, and DVC membership doesn't impart many discounts. DCL discounts are early booking, Florida resident (offered occationally), Cast Member (subject to availability). Occationally there may be something else offered. DVC discounts are pretty much the discount on APs, cash rooms at DVC resorts (sometimes), World of Disney, some restaurants and entertainment at WDW.
We will see what happens when Disney has more ships to book, but currently they don't discount much at all.
Does buying a DVC villa allow you to get a Florida resident discount? Thinking of buying and trying to figure out the benefits. If I go to WDW for one week a year, does it pay to get an AP? Where can I find out how many points you need for a 3 day Disney cruise?

Nope, all your paperwork will state that the purchase of DVC points does not entitle you to FL resident benefits and you will not be considered a FL resident based soley on your purchase of DVC points.
