Disney Cruise Points Question

Hello! I am not an owner of DVC, but I usually rent points on a timeshare reseller site for my vacations so I am aware of how the program works. I am interested in a Disney Cruise (either booking last minute for a cruise in Oct. 2012 - 3 night Bahamas sailing on October 4th OR doing the 7 night caribbean sailing on March 23, 2013).

Does any one have any idea of how many points it would cost to book both of those cruises? I am aware that it is sometimes cheaper to book the cruise paying cash, but I would like to look at both options. Thank you in advance!

Disney limits the number of points that may be used for cruising. It is possible that using points for the choices you listed is no longer an option.

FWIW, unless you are able to rent distressed points (points that are offered at a very low price because they are about to expire), it will almost certainly cost less to pay cash and book with a TA or directly with DCL.

To use points you must pay a $95 fee (and if you make any changes, another $95 fee will be charged). Cancellation options are very limited. The owner of the points will control the reservation. You will not be able to talk to members services about your reservation directly.

The cruise line won't talk to you about DVC reservations. Those must go through DVC Member Services.
