Planning on doing a disney cruise in about 4yrs. Any chance that they will be out on the west coast by then? Buying tickets for WDW and USF this Dec and wonder if I should buy extra days?
Next summer's positioning of the Magic is a trial run for Disney to see if it would be viable to have a ship on the West Coast. At this point no one would really be able to answer your question...it is too far in advance to really know. Figure if next year's sailings are a success and DCL does go ahead with another ship, it would take a few years to build....
The only realistic answer to your question is that DCL isn't telling yet. WHat they do know is that construction of the new ship(s) will take 2 1/2 - 3 years from the time they actually start building. On our last cruise, we were told that there is no question that DCL will build more ships and have new itineraries...the only question is the timing.
The cruise line is one of the parts of Disney that has made money all along...thru 9/11 fears, economy downturns and upswings, etc.
