Hi Gang. I just called Disney Cruise Line and asked about a Military Discount and guess what?!
Yes they do have one. We booked November cruise back in January and it's all paid for so they
are giving us back $240.00 to our credit card. If your in the military and going on a cruise give them a call and ask them. They didn't even ask what branch of service or if I'm active duty or reserve. Hoo Rahhhh Cheers, Gary

Anyone know if that replies to former military too? My brother is a Marine veteran, and my sister in law is always bugged him to join us on a cruise one of these days (it may be a while tho'...they have eight children and two grandchildren, so even with a discount it will take them a while to save up!).

Oh shucks ... as far as I was told it was for active duty military personnel and that they would be requiring ID when we check-in at the port. Wish they could get it. I'm not 100% sur of course and I lost the e-mail with that information as it came out i believe in december of last year.

I was also told it was for active military only (called this week). Not to burst your bubble, but you best call back and check to be on the safe side. Hate to see you get there and then tell you for active only.

Yep, it was announced back in early summer and is for ACTIVE DUTY military or ACTIVATED RESERVISTS only. They will require military ID and/or activation papers at the port. Rates are applicable for many fall cruise dates on 3, 4 and 7-night sailings. :)

Garyss7,

Not going to try and guess at the active or reserves, after all you only said they didn't ask...but that Hoo Rahhh has GOT to mean Marines!

My DS has his sights aimed at the Air Force Academy upon completionof HS but ever since he learned about the Marines Hoo Rahhh from a military history program on History Channel it has become his battle cry on the football field. It is hysterical to watch those offensive linemen across from him jump when he starts that!

We got a $469 rate for a cat. 9 room on the 12/15 4-night Wonder.

My wife is away and will be our first time together in over 1/2 a year ... so it works out great for us.

On our recent 9/7 Magic cruise, the ship was hosting military travel agents. We had lunch with two very nice ladies, and they told us that a basic rule of thumb for the military discount was if the person still has access to the post exchange. If so, they should be able to get the discount. (Mainly current or retired military). Anyone interested should call their local base, and ask for the military travel agent, or the nearest base with a TA.

They also mentioned that DCL was going to start a law enforcement discount, as well, later this year!!!!:bounce:

We would be interested in a law enforcement discount. My hubby is Port Authority Police in the New York/New Jersey and this would be a great thing!!!!

Can't wait for that...wonder if they'll let us apply it to our existing reservation?

Michelle and all those other great TAs out there keep us posted as you do so well.

Sorry-No Marine here...U.S. Coast Guard.. We both do have water in common though.. I'd be proud to share a beer with a person from any service anytime.. Just hope I'm not pressed into
service on the cruise..I'll keep a low profile...(lol) Cheers and Hoo Rah! Gary (E-6) Reservist

Well that is great too! I grew up in Grand Haven and we have many Coasties in our circle of friends! The group commander just retired and is now head of homeland security for Gerald R Ford airport in Grand Rapids!

I'm really glad to see Disney support our service people this way.
