I was checking out packages I could have delivered to our stateroom.

I saw one with bathrobes. Has anyone bought one? Wondering of quality.

They are 100% polyester and have the DCL logo on them. If I were to shop for a robe IRL, this robe wouldn't have been my selection. However, as part of the romance package on a cruise taken to celebrate our anniversary, it was a nice surprise.

It is a one-size fits all terry cloth robe w/ logo, and we have two from the Romance Package. DH bought a nicer/bigger one in the shops for I think $150??? DS really likes my robe, wears it every night after his bath. I should take DH's from the romance package, as DS isn't likely to give mine back.

It is so soft and cosy. Also washes up like a dream. We love them.

Which store? on board? or the online?

Just FYI, You can also borrow a robe during your stay on board. Just ask your SR host. Free of charge. I love having a robe to lounge in, but did not need one a new one for home, so I just borrowed one.
Really? Now there's a secret tip I never knew. Cruised 6 times and didn't know this - assumed it was just for concierge guests. Goes to show, you never know until you ask.

I see that a person can get this package with a bottle of wine. Do we need to bring a corkscrew?

Yup, we were in an oceanview on deck 2. Nothing fancy about us. Most hotels will provide a robe if you ask too...(not the budget ones, but Starwoods, Marriotts, etc)

Hopefully it will be washed after the last guest used it

Ewww...that is disgusting. But yes, I am sure it was washed. I am more concerned about wearing an unwashed, straight from the factory robe. They spray them with bug spray prior to packaging so bugs don't eat through the materials on the container/cargo ships.

:crazy2::scared:

I've seen varying topics on this. Some say only Concierge level rooms get robes and that the staff doesn't have access to them. Was the one you received from your room host the satin lined one or was it the waffle grid one? I did read that you can get the waffle ones from the Spa and just leave it in your room when you leave the ship. I bought the wife the package with 2 robes, Prosecco, rose and chocolates (as a surprise, SHHH) since we sort of skipped any anniversary gifts this year and had the cruise booked.

I had to go back and look at pictures. It was a soft velvety inside and a satiny sheet/cotton material on the outside with the DCL Logo on it. I would call it a spa robe, not a waffle robe.

Ok you guys talked me into it I just ordered the romance for 2 alcohol one. 125 dollars 133.75 with the tax. I don't wear a robe but the second one was only 36 dollars more I think it was. You pay for it when you order it.

I just got talked into it, too!! :laughing:

I just don't get how there are no real pictures of these package robes anywhere. I still haven't figured out what style they are (waffle grid vs typical robe.) The lady on the phone said that they ordered the same package on their last cruise and they were extremely plush and soft and that the package was much better than buying one robe in the gift shop (completely unsolicited review by her.) I was already committed to buying it. She almost made it sound like they have changed the robes to similar ones in the gift shop on-board. I don't know. Either way it'll be a nice surprise and keepsake for our first trip with DCL.

The online pic doesn't get big enough to see the robes. Anyone have a pic they can post?
