hi all,i booked my upcoming cruise through dreams unlimited.they said that i would have to pick up my tickets/documents at the port.has anyone had to do the same and did you have any problems.thanks in advance.lifer

We did not have to do this, however I understand it is straight forward. When you arrive at the terminal, the gate guards have a list of everyone cruising & once into the terminal there was a designated "pick up point". Complete all the docs & head to the non US desk for the rest of it. It was really simple - don't forget extra photo ID as they keep your passport - the photo driving licence is ideal for this. If you have kids, fill in the forms & sign them up for the clubs in the coffee shop to save valuable on board time. MOstr of all, have a really great cruise, I know we did.

A related query.... Me and DH are going on our first Disney cruise in May. I had heard this about them keeping your passport which I have to say causes me some concern! Anyway, I was firstly wondering how you go about getting your passport back after the cruise and secondly, if there are only certain types of photo I.D. accepted on the ship (especially for us Brits). I have the photo driving licence, but my hubby doesn't and we wondered whether they would accept anything else. As we are both mid-20s we get asked for I.D. all the time so this is particularly important to us.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Why not just photocopy and laminate the info page of your passport?

Hi arieljasmine

When you check in at the Disney Cruise Line terminal, your passport will be taken from you and a copy will be sent to your room for your ID. So when you get off the ship at Nassau (or other ports) and return to the ship, you will show this photocopy. I know that on our last cruise, both myself and DH had the photo drivers licence and we used that instead. Now the WORSE part of your cruise, as you are not a US citizen, you have to attend 'immigration' at 6am on the morning you return to Port Canaveral (in one of the nightclub rooms - I think), where you will have your passport returned to you

So what day are you sailing ? We will be on the Disney Wonder on the 12th May

If you have any other questions, please do not hesitiate to ask

Thanks ever so much for this, mandymouse. 6am!!!!! I can't get up at that time when I'm not on holiday!! Oh well, i'm sure I will cope, and am happier knowing when I will get my passport back.

We are sailing on the Disney Wonder on 26 May - I can't wait!! Our first ever cruise so my hubby keeps trying to convince me that our things won't be sliding all over the cabin with the motion of the water, because I just can't get my head round it!!

I do have another question which I hope you, or someone else might be able to answer. We booked our flights and accommodation with a TA and then booked the 3 day cruise direct with Disney. My question is this: we are stopping at the Coronado Springs before and after the cruise, but as we booked the hotel and cruise separately, will we have to go through the check in procedure both before and after the cruise, and will we therefore stay in two different rooms?? I just can't understand how this will work. Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks again.

My sister picked up her doc`s at the terminal, in fact she had`nt realised she would recieve doc`s and wondered what UPS had tried to deliver to her home before she left the UK.
It was very straight forward as the doc`s are easy to fill in - there`s a desk in the terminal where they will check or help you fill them in before you go to check in for the cruise.

Short answer is yes!!!
We did the 7 night eastern in November plus two & half weeks at various hotels & you have to check in, if you go to guest services when you first arrive at CS they may be able to arrange the same room, guest services are amazing - use them, The cruise - amazing, we have done the 4 night & the 7 night, if any one gets the choice go for the 7 night & beware you will be addicted, it will take over your life & all you will think about is how & when you can get back!!!!
:D

Thanks for this, Tracey, I was really confused as to what we would need to do. Think we'll check out our room's location and if it's a good one, go and talk to guest services about staying in the same room when we return to dry land.

I think Disney has already taken over my life so the cruise will just give me one more thing to be obsessed with!!!!!
