I'd like to have some things waiting for us in our cabin for our arrival, but I don't want to spend the extra money if I can have room service bring it to us. What time does room service open on embarkation day? If you've ordered anything for your arrival, what was it and would you do it again? If we order a bottle of champagne, can we take it up on deck and enjoy it in the afternoon or does it have to be consumed in our room?

We had the champagne and chocolates, I didn't think it was worth the money.

I second that...We each had about a sip of champagne and only ate the chocolates. It was a nice thing to have in the room when you got there, but realistically it was a waste.

I know someone will correct me if I am wrong. I don't believe room service is availble until after the lifeboat drill.

We ordered the cheese platter from room service while on board and IMHO it was not worth it at all. There were a few slices of cheese and some Ritz crackers and grapes.

I don't know about the "gift" cheese, but the room service cheese was next to nothing. I mean, it's free, so if you want it, get it. Just don't expect much.

We ordered room service before the lifeboat drill and had no problems. we also enjoyed the cheese and crackers from room service, all it cost was the tip.
