So, I talked to the wedding coordinator between port/ship. Not cathy, This is Kaye from Disney Cruise Weddings, she said that there are NO make up artists onboard. So ladies we are on our own unless there is someone on the islands that can do the make up for us.

No makeup artists EVER or no makeup artists on your sailing?

Cuz another DCL bride reported that there was a makeup station at the salon, it's just that some sailings have cosmetologists who can do makeup and some don't....

Originally I was told by Cathy it depended on the cruise but when, I talked to Kaye she said they don't have any makeup artists on board just hair stylists.

there was one on the July 24th Wonder because the 4:30 bride was getting her makeup done in the salon while I was getting a pedicure

from what I understand, they don't always have one..so they just say "none is available" ..once you get on the ship, then you can ask if one is there

Well, I hope that is the case...cuz Iwouldn't want it to be that way for ALL Disney Cruise Line Brides. I am just finding it hard to figure the make up thing on my own. And I am running out of time.

that is a big concern for me too, so i'm extra doubly glad my sister is coming on the VR with us, because she is a Mary Kay representative and can make me look beautiful. I wouldn't even be able to figure out how to cover up my rudolph nose!! :lmao:

I am having a hard time figuring out what colors to wear. I am don't wear a lot of make up and I don't plan on wearing an over abundance. I did my makeup for my first wedding and for the life of me I cannot even remember what I wore! EEEk....I am in complete panic mode over colors.

Can you go to your local department store or Sephora and have one of the cosmetic counter people do a makeover for you? They might be able to help you figure out which colors are most flattering to you (although in my many years of doing this, I can say it's hit or miss whether they're right... so you might wanna do this more than once!).

Usually you don't have to pay for it and you don't have to buy anything, but some of the swankier department stores have an unwritten rule that you need to buy something, so you might want to ask. You might also ask your hair stylist for makeup artist recommendations or check Craig's List in your area for a makeup artist. They can show you what to use and how to apply it.

And you don't have to buy expensive makeup either. With color cosmetics like lipstick, eye shadow and blush, you can just look at the drug store for similar colors to the ones you were made over with. I would recommend spending a little more on foundation and concealer b/c it's easier to get a good color match and a more natural-looking product that way. And if there's a spendy item you find you can't live with out, check eBay to see if you can get it for less. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the tips! I did my makeup for my first wedding and I have no idea what I did. I look at the pictures and I really have no clue.

As for getting to a cosmetics counter, I live 2 hours from the mall. I don't think I will be able to get to there anytime soon to try that out. Love that idea though.

Foundation is the hardest part for me though. I have never worn it except in school musicals. So that I would have a REAL hard time figuring out how to use.

So maybe, I will see if there is a mary kay rep or someone like that around to help me out.
