Ok, struggling a little here so not sure if anyone can help. Looking at a Disney Cruise for 2014 although I think the itineraries are only out until May or August (ship dependent). Had anyone done a cruise booking from the UK that would have recommendations for us on who to book through / how to go about it?

We were also considering Royal Caribbean cruises instead. Will have a 9 and a 6 year old by then (yikes). Is one company cheaper than the other etc etc? Any advice from resident experts gratefully received x

I have only done Disney Cruises so I can't comment on other cruise lines.

Disney are great for kids. There really is so much to do for all ages. They are (As im sure you can guess) quite expensive compared to other cruise lines. As always your paying for that "disney magic" and I have to say I've never been disappointed with any aspect of my cruises with them. I think some of the itineries have been for 2014, but not all. Their websites quite helpful with getting ideas and prices.

Whenever I have booked a Disney Cruise I have booked through Dreams Unlimited Travel. The price is usually the same but they normally offer an incentive such as onboard credit. I've dealt with them numerous times and have always found them extremely helpful.

For Disney cruises (done 6) I now use http://www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com/
Used to use www.disneycruiseline.com direct but you get extra onboard credit using Dreams Unlimited. Prices should be the same everywhere.

For RCCL (done 2) I have used cruisedirect.com (they used to give cashback via Quidco) and also used Thomas Cook cruises.

We enjoy both cruiselines, Disney are better but you pay for it. To give you an idea of difference I just priced up 25th(Disney) 26th (RCCL) August, 4 nights from Port Canaveral for 2 people.
Disney inside cabin $1,613.24 USD
RCCL inside cabin $721.06 USD

Remember tips are extra. Disney include a soda station, RCCL you buy a soda package.

We really enjoy Disney cruising but unfortunately they have got too expensive the last couple of years for me.

Thank you both that's really helpful! What a difference Wayne, I can't quite believe that! Great idea to do a mini cruise from Florida!

We were thinking of maybe going from Southampton with RCCL round the med maybe. Think Disney may be out of our price range sadly for this one!!!

Never cruised from UK. Always seems expensive.
Just looked at a 7 nt cruise going from Port Canaveral on 8th Sept, £379pp incl tax. Cruising can be so cheap out there.

We have cruised the Med with Disney as well as a Bahamas cruise from Florida, loved both.

We Aldo have a 7 night Caribbean cruise on the Disney Fantasy coming this March. Can't recommend disney crises enough although as Wayne says they're not cheap, especially compared to other lines.

Though we are going on our first RCCL cruise this May, round Norway out of Southampton and its not all that much cheaper than our upcoming Fantasy cruise!

As you mention 2014, and the DCL itineraries only being available til May, I'm hoping its because they are coming back to Europe, as May is usually when those transatlantic repo cruises are :)

:goodvibes
