I just heard on the news that a Disney Cruiseline Bus caught fire on I-4 today. Everyone got off okay, but I bet they lost their luggage. Thank goodness everyone was okay! Not a great way to start your cruise.

Disney tour bus caught fire with more than 50 passengers aboard Thursday and was destroyed by flames in Orange County.

Officials said the fire was reported on the Disney bus at about 2:15 p.m. as it was parked on the side of the Beeline Expressway between Dallas Blvd. and state Road 520.

The bus was reportedly having some type of tire problem before the fire.

When the driver spotted smoke, the bus was pulled over on state Road 528. The bus then ignited and was videotaped completely engulfed by flames on the side of the road.

All of the passengers were removed from the bus without injury. A Disney official said another bus was sent to pick up passengers and transport them to their cruise terminal and that most of the passenger's luggage was sent ahead to the terminal.

The bus was apparently headed eastbound when it caught fire.

Authorities closed all lanes of the Beeline Thursday at 2:30 p.m.

Oh my goodness ~ what a frightning picture. Prayers and pixie dust go out to all passengers on that bus that they will be able to have a "Magical" vacation after such a start! Thank goodness all were off safely!!

Honestly, if I were a passenger,

(and this is terrible)

(might want to read on if you're the sensitive type)

I might be a little bummed that my luggage hadn't gone el fuego along with the bus. Disney would've paid me big bucks for a new wardrobe. Plus, I would've worn a week's worth of Disney freebies on the cruise ship. New Everything! Yay! Besides, I still would've had my purse. No self-respecting woman leaves a burning bus without her purse! ;)

Looks like this bus violated its own no smoking policy!

That picture kind of reminds me of the avatar used by a certain group of DISers a few years back.

I guess it really is better to take a limo over to the port:teeth:

YIKES!1 I'm glad that no one was injured.

Just so you know - most times the luggage goes on a separate truck and only some of the luggage is on the bus. Hopefully people didn't lose much.

According to posts on the Cruise Board the fire was on the Beeway (528, I think) and that no luggage was lost. Sounded like there was enough time to get whatever was in the underneth area out before it became totally involved.
