I second that question: Any details on flowers and hair?

I asked about having a hair flower added to my bouquet request for our VR.....was told it would be about $45 more. I ended up getting a free one with my other bouquet I bought, but then decided against using it. the hair flower wasn't that big of a thing for me, otherwise I would have just paid the $45 and have Disney do it.

We did it and it ended up being a month after our VR b/c I was blessed with a horrible stomach virus from the cruise when we had scheduled our 1st one. (Bring lots of hand sanitizer with you!!!) We did Epcot and MK and it was beyond amazing for us. It was more romantic and intimate than our VR. :cloud9: Silly isn't it? We got a box of 4x6 prints of every picture, a proof book, and then I exchanged our formal albums for a credit on the CD. I got the disk of our prints for $350. I went through DPS for all of this b/c my planner at the time knew nothing of this. I wouldn't have known it was possible if it wasn't for the disboards. I called Karen at DPS and told her I was a DFTW bride and gave her my reservation number to confirm it.

I 2nd Tanya's statement about the shoot being more special to us than the VR. :lovestruc We are so absolutely pleased with our pictures and it was great weather, we had an awesome photographer, it was just DH and I being ourselves and not worrying about the cake or flowers or ceremony chairs or anything like that. It was just us being together.....and our pictures captured that. LOVED our photoshoot and it seriously the only thing I wouldn't change about our VR.

Hi girls I have a question about the DCL photography package. How long do you get the photographer for and do they attend the ceremony too? Or is it just a shoot after? I couldn't find this info anywhere. Thanks.

I had the photographer for about an hour..he took pictures on deck with my DH and guests and then all the pictures after the ceremony. We walked around the deck while my guests went to Palo after the ceremony and then took shots in Palo.

You can pay for extra photography time, but if I had to do it again, I would find out about an outside photographer for the cruise. You would have the photographer for much more time than DCL and you could have all your proofs after.

You don't get the proofs? Wow--that is a surprise. How would you go about hiring an outside photographer? I would imagine we would be responsible for the travel cost? Has onyone done this for a DCL wedding?

I'd like to know this too but I'm afraid it will be too expensive.

I think what you do is find someone willing to give a CD of all your pics in exchange for the cost of the cruise. An inside cabin for a 3 or 4 day cruise is less than $1k and you'll have all your pics. I think the DCL package is like $995 for the CD. granted if you bring a photographer from Home it would be more $$ as you'll have airfare and stuff, but if you could find one in the Orlando area, you'd be better off.

Hey! Thanks for the plug! Yes, I will go on a cruise and take pics if someone wants to pay for me to go :thumbsup2

We did all our own photography on the ship.

Thank you everyone! I think this is going to be the hardest part to plan for us. We really want great photos.:goodvibes

there is no deposit for a DCL wedding..it is added to the cost of the cruise and needs to be paid off 105 days before the cruise if you want to prebook excursions or Palo

It didn't increase the deposit amount. We booked when there was a special too, so we only had to pay 1/2 of the normal deposit amount.
