So if unity candles and sand ceremonies are not allowed on CC, what can we do to make the ceremony a little more special and longer? I would like to write my own vows and maybe have some readings but how would you go about talking to someone about customizing your actual ceremony? I don't really care to get married in a matter of 6 minutes. I could get married in Vegas for that ;)

Ehhh...u kidding me? That stinks if I see even ONE candle on that ship I am breaking out my unity candle...I think I will just bring it for a photo op if they won't let me light it LOL I get the feeling that sometimes Shanda does not work with the brides as much as the when you get on the ship...like she said no changing the color of the icing but brides have had the icing changed once on the ship....

I have to say I have never seen any candles on either of the ships. The closest thing to candles that I have seen are the sparklers on the baked Alaska.

Shanda suggested that instead of the unity candle or sand ceremony I should have someone do a reading or even read a poem....but I am having an onboard ceremony so things might be different for you Castaway Cay brides :)

I was able to see the wedding script that is originally planned to be read at the ceremony and it is is very short and straight to the point. I dont see it taking any more then 5 minutes for the ceremony part if the rush through it. I put my resvised wedding script on my planning journal which you can check out to get an idea of what it would look like. i sent the revised script to shanda for approval i really dont see it being rejected but i added a opening prayer, a reading, and instead of saying our own personal vows ive opted for a couples prayer. it probably added about 5 more extra minutes but hey its your wedding you should be able to revise it to the way you like.

I so agree, we should have the power to make small adjustments, it is not like I am asking to fly in an orchestra here! lol I honestly don't see why a candle can not be used on CC either, makes no sense to me :confused3

I definitely think it is safer to bring items in question and if they are able to accommodate they will...I hear the ship is much more accommodating as I am already learning that Shanda is not.

I'm not certain, but I think I read someone got to skip the lines to have character pictures taken on the ship with the onboard photographer.

We got to step into the front of the line for Captain Jack and Minnie Mouse, Mickey was way too busy. I dont' think the other passengers minded too much either, we got lots of smiles and "congratulations" :)

Hi
I have been going through this thread and loving it! I am not a Disney Bride (maybe a VR in my future??? One day???) but I have a client who is getting married on the Magic in January (I am a TA). I know this question has been asked a hundred times but can you girls tell me what are the photo package prices? And how long do you have the photographer? And is the photographer able to take you places an outside photograper can't go?

Thank so much any info would be helpful. This is our first DCL wedding we are helping to book. I know we could just do the travel but I want to be a wealth of information for my bride.

Hello! I think it is very nice you are helping so much to plan the brides wedding! :) I actually am bringing my own photographer for the same cost of what a photographer on board would cost! She is Mikkel Paige and her work is amazing! http://www.facebook.com/mikkelpaige

It is an option, not sure what her prices would be in the future but I have found her to be a pleasure to work with!

The cost for the photos is somewhere in this thread I for some reason cannot find my info on that...also does your bride know about the photo shoots in Magic Kingdom that are reserved only for Disney Brides? We are doing that and cannot wait, this is something else they may want! We are doing a Disney Cruise wedding and getting married on the beach on Castaway Cay!

Good luck :wizard:

speaking of dresses mine is now posted on my PJ page 6!!.. sorry it took a little bit i got a little caught up on my favorite tv show lol. enjoy <3

Yay! Did you post pics on facebook? I would love to see it :cloud9:

Mine has been sitting at my moms, waiting for two months out and then I will bustle it and put a bra in the dress!

I probably wont post it on Facebook because my son wants to be surprised just like his dad :cloud9: I think it is so sweet.

I will try to get a picture posted soon in my PJ.

Photography information is included in the Wedding Planning Guide & Elements/Enhancements Packet the bride received upon confirmation of the wedding date.

There are three photography packages available.
*Celebration Package 349.95
*Wishes Package 549.95
*Magic Package 999.95 (includes photo CD)
*Photo CD added to Celebration or Wishes 399.95

The main difference between all the packages is the number of prints and albums you receive, and of course the Celebration and Wishes packages do NOT include the photo CD.

It's my understanding the photographer is there for the entire ceremony and cake cutting celebration. Then they take the bride and groom around the ship for more photos. The couple could always purchase additional time if they want a longer photo session.

My wedding isn't until next year, so I don't know the exact amount of time that is included or where the ship's photographer can/cannot take the couple. I've seen great pictures on the DIS Boards from past DCL brides who've used ship photographers, and I've also seen awesome pictures from photographers that DCL brides brought with them.

Best of luck to your bride.

Jen

On photography there is an additional 85 fee for castaway weddings.

Can't wait to see your dress. You need to use something like Photobucket to post pictures.
