Disney Credit Card

I have been away from the boards for a while, I was wondering if anyone has the new Disney credit card and if they have had the opportunity to use them (redeem points). I was wondering if there are any "catches" or conditions that require you to jump through hoops to redeem the points.

No problems redeeming. We already got $100.00 to use on our upcoming trip. Takes about a week to get them after you go to the website and apply for the $$$$$$.

I had no problem at all. I used them at the big Disney store (is it World of Disney?) in Downtown Disney. Just had to sign the certificates and they took them as cash. Unfortunately i didn't have enough to cover the full purchase!

We had NO problems when we wanted to get our certficates. It took about 5 days. Leaving in 2 weeks so the extra money is great.

We also had no problem redeeming them. Used $60 worth for a character meal. Very easy and a help to the wallet.

For those of you who have redeemed the certificates and used them, are they treated the same as Disney Dollars? Do they give you change back or do you have to use the entire certificate?

I haven't used any yet, but I seem to recall that the website states that you don't get change, so if you don't use the full amount of the certificate, you lose what you don't spend of the certificate. So it's always best to use them when the total is more than the certificate is worth.

When you redeem your points, do you get ONE certificate or can you request in increments? If so, this may help with smaller purchases (since you can't get change back)

The certificates are issued in $10 increments. So $50 will get you 5 $10 certificates. It was a breeze to order them off of the web site, and they were here within a week.

Hi,

I talked to Bank 1 and they told me I can charge back to the rm with my rm card and just use the certificates to pay off some of my balance at the end of our stay, unfortunately we usually charge more than I will be getting in certificates, but even some $$$ takin off is better than no $$$$. but this will take care of any differences in the amt of certificate and differences in change not given back.

I did find out that your points may not be there if your transactions are not done before your billing date, so it is important to make sure whatever you are counting on go thru at least 2 days before your billing date ends. This way you have all the dollars you are entitled to before you actually call and request them.
