Can someone tell me what the rewards are for the card? Is it worth getting? Do you get double points or anything for Disney purchases? Perks? I am considering the card, but not 100% sure what you can get out of it.

Thanks!

The rewards are disney dollars that are transferred onto a card. The card can be used for a Disney vacation, Disney store, or inside the park.
For a Disney vacation package that includes tickets you get 0% for 6 months, I think.
At Epcot you get a private meet and greet with the characters and a free 5x7.
They do have other perks can't think of themoff the top of my head. Sometimes they come out with free dining, and other promos.

You earn 1 reward point for every $100.

Here's the web site...

The other highlight is a discount at World of Disney at DTD. I don't think that you even have to use the card - just show it. The 0% interest for 6 months is great and is for a room-only reservation or a package.

We have gone twice and have used the rewards for tips and beer and wine at meals (we were on the DDP) and for any extras (souvenirs, drinks that weren't on the dining plan, etc.) You can also apply rewards to your vacation package or resort bill.

You probably won't be able to build up too much for you upcoming trip, but you could for future trips.

I charge every little thing on it that I can. These are the items or bills that I would be paying cash or check for anyway. If you carry a balance it's not worth it, but, if you pay it in full every month, it's free money. I buy my groceries, pay my cable, cell phone bill, insurance, etc. with it. When I go on my trips I have hundreds of rewards built up. You can buy tickets, food, souvenirs, etc. with it. I never have to pay for a meal in the parks on our trips!:cool1:

Does anyone know if you can get the 0% financing on an excisting reservation? (I have a room only ressie and paid the deposit but need to pay off the balance).

We also use our rewards card for EVERYTHING and pay off the balance every month, for our upcoming trip (inside of 30 days now!) we will have nearly our ENTIRE dining plan paid off with our rewards!!!

If you are a Disney freak like we are, I highly recommend it!

We also charge everything on the card. (We do pay it off every month too.) Those reward dollars do add up.

I like using it the most, because it gives me more of a reason to go back to Disney:thumbsup2 Other than that, you can get a free pic taken at Epcot with some characters, and a few discounts here and there. The best perk I think, is only for DL, but if you're going it's a huge perk for us. You get free stroller rentals at DL, but only DL, not DW. Of course if you don't have a need for a stroller than it really doesn't matter:)

Like everyone one else here, we charge everything to our Disney Visa. DH even uses it for business travel. DH and I were charter members of the card (members since day 1) just before we got married. We've had it for 5 years and we have 2500 reward dollars. It's going to pay for our park tickets AND dining plan for 10 days in a couple of weeks... plus we have more than 1000 reward dollars still left for future trips! Our ten day trip in a few weeks will be completely free except for our airfare (which we snagged for $157 RT non-stop from Chicago - what a deal!) -- our resort stay is free by using the developer point incentive from DVC. We're putting an extra 250 of reward dollars for tips, souveniers, etc.

The reward dollars do expire after five years so you need to be sure you use them within that time, or you lose them.

We also just bought into DVC and can use the reward dollars for our membership dues.

You don't have anything to lose -- no annual dues! Just be sure to not carry a balance every month (which you shouldn't do with any credit card).

I have had the Disney card since 2005 and after this year's disney trip I will stop using it. I currently have about 415 points/reward dollars on it. I'm done with the Disney card. I'd rather get the LLBean Visa.

just got ours a few weeks ago...we've been putting everything on there then turning around & paying it off by making payments thru the website. we're hoping to pay off our DVC dues with the points next year :cool1:

Thanks for all the great info! Sounds like i have been missing out!

Why are you done with it?

I was a charter member (december 03) and I've been using points ever since. We paid for our Disney wedding and our DVC purchase on there - right now we have over $600 in rewards waiting to be used, and that's just since May - we used our current balance of $600 then on our wedding trip. What's better than buying DVC interest free?!?! In the spring when we go back for our 1 year anniversary, we'll have $800 or more to use on a spa package, the segway tour in EPCOT and a good chunk of our food for the week. It's great!
